    Vizio SV420XVT1A issues.

    Hey all

Been awhile since I have posted, TV repair has been on hold for me since other things have taken over.

I am trying to finish up some back stock I have left.

Anyway I have 2 of these panels, and both of them are doing the same exact thing.

When powered on the panel functions perfectly fine and in (about 10-30 min later give or take) the display becomes corrupt, audio cuts out, starts squealing, pink noise ect and the buttons/remote become un responsive and the unit has to be unplugged.

After I unplug it and plug it back in it will function 100% fine and the issue will not comeback unless the panel has been powered off for a while.

I am guessing it is a bad mainboard/EEPROM but the mainboard version I have in both of these panels is the one that cannot be changed (talk about luck).

So I assume I will need a new mainboard, but has anyone experienced similar issues with these series of Vizio panels? I would like to find out how to prevent this from happening again.

I know vizio likes to encase their mainboards behind a stupid metal box/shield that traps heat like crazy, I am working if I drill some more vent holes in the top of that would help keep the heat off the main.

Anyway, all the voltages are correct, nothing seems off about them, I did not get to a component level but the SMPS, CCFL inverter and standby and power voltages were all present.

    thanks!

Have you checked voltage regulations on mainboard?

      Sounds heat related.

      1) try heating up the mainboard and tcon boards with a hair dryer to see if you can quicken the screen corruption.

      2) after screen corruption, are the power supply output voltages still good?

Vizio M43-C1 - How closely do I need to match the mainboard number?
        by Devonavar
I have a Vizio M43-C1 stuck in a reboot loop with no backlight.

I've tested all the voltage rails coming out of the power supply and they are "normal" for this model (PS_ON & DIM go high when turned on, BL_ON & 3D_ON are close to zero due to backlight power flowing through the mainboard, 5VSB is 5V, and 12V is 19V, which is apparently normal for this board).

Basically, I get similar results to Garry in this post: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80346

So, I've ruled out the PSU for now.

        The reboot loop...

        Vizio P65 with P55 mainboard
        by maricm
IH all, Got this vizio tv P65-E1 from FB marketplace hoping to be able to reflow mainboard as selerrstated that it was diagnosed with bad mainboard. However they must have tried to repair tv by putting another board in and they put P55 board in .
Tv starts and responds to remote but screen does not look right , It looks like low resolution with some image ghosting. Now not having original board I dont know what to order ? Any advice how to figure out what exact board fits this tv ?
And another question Would it be possible to adopt this board to this tiv by chagning eeprom or tcon...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

Toshiba 49U7763DB (Mainboard: Vestel 17MB120) firmware issues after sporadic power cu
        by cheeky2
I have this Toshiba 49U7763DB Tv which was suffering issues after various electrical power cuts, which happened in quick succession
Originally the TV was powering on and then very shortly powering off. I managed to get into the menu structure before powering off and carry out a first time installation of the TV. Which didn't make much difference. I have managed to factory reset (that didn't make any difference either).
The firmware inside the 17MB120 is corrupted and is causing some strange issues so my question is does anyone have any suitable firmware for this model?

        Sell or Shim Solar panels?
        by eccerr0r
Well, due to my grid tie inverter not accepting high voltages, and the fact that the lions in my solar panels are 36V (72-cell) I think I need to stick with 72-cell.

However I have a few smaller panels that are 36, 32, and two 30-cell. The 36 and 32 together run at 75% efficiency (and subtract more with additional inefficiencies) when running in parallel with the 72-cell panels. The kicker is that the two 30s... generate 0% power when connected in parallel(!)

So now what to do with these small panels?

        I could sell them...

        Or I could shim them....
