Possible causes for lines on screen for 52" Sony LCD

I do not have access to this TV, so I can't tell you much besides whats here. This is a 52" Sony, probably KDL-52XBR9, KDL-52Z5100 or KDL-52Z5500. Assuming that all connectors are seated properly, what are the most likely causes of this issue? There are reported lines and image blurriness on all inputs. I have my theories, but I do not want to taint the replays. If you have an opinion post it, even if it was listed already.

Sorry, for images, that is the best I was given.

    Thanks

since the lines aren't consistent on these pictures, I say tab bonds.

the ghosting and lines are probably tab bonds or component failure on the ribbons

That is not a tcon board issue. For sure short in the COF on the tab ribbons built into the panel..this may be able to be mimicked out if you adjust the RGB gains in the service menu. I've done it.for people before but sometimes wont help much.

        Probably an AUO panel
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

HI, i downloaded a Sony document on Italian TV forum that is called "TCon troubleshooting guide", in this there is some example screens listed as Tcon failures, one of those is equal to the defect you posted. Bye.

Can you post the documentation and image examples here? Thanks
Keep in mind that lines are not uniformed, and there is blurriness on the screen as well.

Probably something similar like this document. However your failure looks different to me.

All of the pictures on page 6 show symmetrical periodic uniformity. The ones I am looking at do not; which puts a doubt in my mind. But still thanks for your input on this.

I'm not referring to those screens with vertical lines periodic, but the second picture, watch the effect (vertical blur) on the big characters (Sony), its very similar to those characters on your pictures... By

                      Hello again everyone,

This is my latest mission, to try getting this Sony tv back to normal working order…

I've only just got it today, when you power it up everything is as should be, in fact it works perfectly for a few minutes then the screen starts getting horizontal lines on & eventually the full screen goes back, I will upload photos of the problem & also some photos of the board etc. You might notice that I'm busy trying the tape method, I'm not sure exactly where the clock lines are so I'm just guessing & hoping for the best lol . I've already tried...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
                      by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

                      Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                      by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Sony XBR65X900H TV with Horizontal Lines right half of screen
                      by dvu0627
I have a Sony Smart TV XBR65X900H that started to have horizontal lines on the right side of the screen (see attached picture). When I played video on Youtube green horizontal line at regular intervals(1/4") across the screen.
I replaced the T-Con board but the lines are still there.
I believe this issue is from the Main Board. Before I replace the Main board, I wanted to seek advise if this is the problem from the Main board or something else?
                      Thank you for the help....

                      Samsung QN50Q60t lines on screen
                      by jeyoung12
                      Hi all
I have lines on the screen...which is an age old problem that can be remedied by watching Youtube videos and getting out the tape.
My issue (after successfully fixing a different sammy tv with a separate tcon board and isolating the side of the panel...):

This tv has an integrated tcon...so it is a bit more confusing when trying to isolate the clocks.
It has a c ribbon and i have taken each end out to see if that will isolate the lines. instead, it makes it much worse ALL over the tv!

So....i don't know what end of the C ribbon to work with...
