I will replace the cap tomorrow and see if it fixes the problem. I will post back when it is done.
[QUOTE=budm;580951]"It came right up to 5.09 v right away and then dissipated down to 1V " OK, that is not normal, the STANDBY 5.2V is an always on power supply that is running 24/7 hwne you have the TV plugged into the outlet. So it is either there is problem in the standby pwoer supply or the main board is load the standby power supply.
You can try this quick test, unplug the TV from the outlet, then heat that section I marked with hair dryer for 2~3 minutes, then plug the TV in and monitor the 5.2VDC pin, then turn the TV and see if the 5.2V will stay on at 5.2VDC. When STBY power supply drops out, every thing will drop out with it.

    Hello Budm

I have same model vizio tv, but my power supply is not the same shown in the picture.... my one is vizio 92424ABV.... 715G4069-P01-W30-003M

the problem I have is that the tv does not present logo power and does not tunr on... when measuring voltages everything is present at power supply (24, 12 volts), but 5 volts terminal is about 2.6.... if i disconnect the main board the 5 volts terminal shows 5.1 and 24, 12 dissapear.... heating up the start up whe only see logo starting for a very short period and very dimm when connecting the set.... what could be wrong with this unit?

Please start a new thread with make and model in the tread name and also upload good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV and the power supply board so I can look at them and give you the test points to test.

I have a vizio E470va power supply ADTV92424XBV There is no standy 5v. Which caps should I check? If I had a schematic, I could figure it out.

If it is then please upload good clear straight shot of the whole top and bottom side of the board for us to look at.

I also wanted to ask if the adtv92424xbv and adtv92424abv
            are interchangeable?

Shopjimmy does not show alternate P/N for this power supply.

                I have closer ones too.
I did notice the burnt looking area on the bottom. It's a CAP.

So, I replaced the 1000Uf cap in the 5V supply and it's giving 5v. Also I get 24V come on when I jump 5v to the P On.
But the 5V drops out if I connect it to the TV. I checked and it still drops out if only the main board is connected.
                  Any Ideas now?
