    Dead Vizio D40u-D1

Recently had my bedroom Vizio D40u-D1 apparently die while it wasn't being used. Noticed the power LED flashing, figuring maybe a software upgrade, but attempting to turn it on proved that wasn't the case. When powered on, the power LED will flash a bunch of times after about 2 minutes then turn off again. Definitely is no picture even with a flashlight on the screen. Had the opportunity to open it up over the weekend. Doesn't apper to be anything out of the ordinary visibly inside, nor any odd smells of escaped magic smoke. Readings from the connector in the corner of the power supply board are as follows:
    desc: standby: "powered on" desc:
    BL_ON/OFF 0 V 0.02 V
    2D/3D 0 V 0 V
    GND - -
    GND - -
    +19V_A 16.49 V 19.07 V
    +19V 16.49 V 19.06 V
    +19V 16.49 V 19.06 V
    +5V 5.15 V 5.13 V
    0.08 V 3.68 V PS ON
    0.08 V 3.68 V PS ON
    - - GND
    - - GND
    16.49 V 19.07 V +19V_A
    16.49 V 19.07 V +19V
    16.49 V 19.07 V +19V
    5.15 V 5.13 V +5V
I'm not versed at all in these but it seems like the power supply is at least doing something with the exceptiong of BL_ON/OFF which is only changing a smidge (not enough?). Also not sure if the +19V readings should remain constant or if the lower readings on standby are normal. I tried heating up the processors on the mainboard with a hair dryer as I don't have a heat gun but that didn't do much of anything. Other things maybe of note: the small LED on the mainboard is red when in standby and purple/blue (?) when the TV is powered up and when I do turn it on, I can't turn it off with the remote or the power button, have to wait for the TV to power itself off.

So what's my likely course of action here? Swap out the mainboard or test some other things?

Welp looks like I spoke too soon. The TV works again but the tuner isn't finding anything. I tried a portable TV with the coax and that works so it's not the antenna. Bad tuner on the replacement mainboard?

Board is still running 1.3.26-UHD. The other (55") one I have has 1.5.16-UHD (latest?) on it

FWIW, ended up returning that board and bought another one from a different seller (this time one that worked)

                Vizio E65-F0 really dead
                by Iain P
                Hi everybody!

I've got a Vizio E65-F0 smart tv that is good and dead. It shows no signs of life when I press the power button on the back. The power LED in the lower right corner doesn't light, there is no backlight and no picture.

So I took the back off and started poking around figuring one or more of the caps had dried out. My esr meter says all the caps on the power supply board and the mainboard are less than 1 ohm.

I decided to check the voltages coming off the power supply they are as follows:

                connector CN201
                pin 1 (18vsb1)...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Vizio D50u-D1 Dead: PSU or Main Board?
                by fharris1977
Hi. Anyone who has experience with these vizio sets, which pin on this connector is the standby, the 5V pin? Trying to rule out the PSU before ordering a mainboard. I'm getting 0 Volts on all pins on this connector. Trying to jump the standby and PS ON pins to see if the PSU is functioning. Thanks in advance.

Vizio D50u-D1 Dead Set No Standby
                by fharris1977
Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.

This is a dumpster find, don't know if it was hit, there are no visible cracks...

I though there may be something wrong with the panel voltages.
Those I managed to find on the T-Con board. Does it seem normal?
