    Panasonic TC-P50G20 SC Board

    People,

I'm really sorry for reposting what has had like a thousand links (seriously, I've read 5 different posts on this).

I've determined as you would guess that my panel has the SC board failure.

It was giving a 4 blink code. Unplugged SC kept giving 4 blink. Unplugged the SD and all of a sudden I've gotten a 6 blink code. So that all makes sense even according to the service menu.

This is where I get lost. I have no idea how I should go about testing the board to figure out what is and is not working. I've read posts where there were suggestions. I've got the service manual. But I struggle with the basics. How do I use my multimeter to determine whether it's bad or not.

I've watched a few youtube videos. But I'm still not 100% clear. The boards are either non-existent or super expensive. Either way, I thought this would be a great chance to learn something new. I just really don't know where to start. I'd really appreciate any assistance and suggestions you all can offer. Even if it's simple links to videos/pages for me use to figure it out for myself.

I've been reading these and a few others. It totally seems possible. Though perhaps expensive? I figured this would be a good chance to also learn how to solder, because it's already broken so who cares if I screw it up more, but ultimately I'd really like to fix it. I really wish it was simply just a bad cap with oozing liquids. I can fix that. Sadly it is more.

    Cheers,

    Jer

not really a beginners job if you have little soldering experience. easy to permanently destroy the copper tracks so if you really want to get it going you need to perform the sd/su buffer board resistance checks to make sure they're ok and moduslink pts do repairs. you just missed a 25% off sale which would have been handy. they do have sales from time to time but you'd have to check weekly on their site to catch them
