I have never fixed a tab bond is this something that takes a lot of time and is it worth doing?Comment

Re: samsung ln52a550p3fxza bad panel tcon?
Tab-bonds are something you cannot fix. You can only Botch them using pads to force them to contact the glass of the panel or the PCB.TELEFIX

Re: samsung ln52a550p3fxza bad panel tcon?
I have one here and I can not find any problems with the panel. Seems to be to be the T-Con board. The people who had it said they had dropped it but I can't find any cracks. I swapped the two ribbon cables from the T-Con to the panel to see if that was it and no change. So basically I have one side not working at all. I also tested the circuit board on the panel and can't find any bad parts.
I also pressed on the tab bonds and the picture had no change, they look perfect. No burn marks. All looks 100% Perfect on the panel.
I have seen this before when the ribbon cable was backwards but not the case here. And I do not have a T-Con board to swap out.
What do you think?Comment

Re: samsung ln52a550p3fxza bad panel tcon?
Well I tried 2 other T-Con boards and I have the same problem so it must be the panel. Both other T-Con boards showed an image. Looks like it may be the connection where the ribbon cable from the T-Con boards goes. If I can't fix it then I am giving up on it. I will keep the TV for a test TV so I can test other boards in it. If I fix it I am not sure what I will do with it.Comment

by x_orange90_xJust bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

by advantThis thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.
I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match... -
by NWArkGuyWell, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...
In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.
I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.
I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ... -
by KYBOSHI came across a 50inch TU8000 that wouldnt start up properly (blinking stand-by light, backlights would cycle on and off).
When i opened it up and removed the power to the mainboard the backlights powered up and everything looked uniform.
When reconnected the mainboard but disconnected the flex cable to the panel i heard the TV startup with the intro sound.
Later I checked for shorts on the panel PCB boards but could not find anything.
When I took a look with the FLIR i noticed the 2 resistors...08-10-2024, 08:39 AM - Loading...
