ok I have this polaroid, it powers on but no picture, it has 5volt stanby, then when I power it on the red led light goes to blue as its suppose to but no picture, so I checked and theres no 24v or 12v on the power supply, so I get mixed up here trying to figure out if that is the power supply problem or the main? cause I know the main takes the 5volt stanby and uses it to push the correct power to other places but theres no 12 or 24 v coming out power supply.

Re: polaroid flm-3234b no backlight or 24v
As explained in my troubleshooting guide, the 12V and 24V are turned on by the command signal (PS-ON) from the main board, so with simple logic, do you have PS-ON? that will be the first thing to find out.Never stop learning

Re: polaroid flm-3234b no backlight or 24v
bud I don't have a ps-on wrote on this power supply,,, the last 3 things is
stb
5vsb
5v
when plugged in I have the 5vsb for 5volts
then when I turn it on I get 5volts on all 3 of them,,, shouldn't the 5v standby go away once turned on? but it don't.. also I have delt with these polaroids a few times usually its bad caps, but I see no bulging or leaking caps on this psu

Re: polaroid flm-3234b no backlight or 24v
STB = PS-ON, when TV is off it should be <1VDC, when TV is on it should be >2.5VDC and stays there until the TV is turned off.Never stop learning

Yes, so more likely you will need to replace a complete set of caps on that power supply board.Never stop learning

Re: polaroid flm-3234b no backlight or 24v
Bad cap can look normal, you need to remove them and test the ESR and the capacitance. The bad part about this power supply is due to bad design with caps mounted inside the heatsink.Never stop learning
