Samsung LN-T3232H 32" Flatscreen is dead

    Hello

This is my first post in this forum since joining, but I've been reading a lot of very good information.

My Problem is with a Samsung LN-T3232H 32" Flat Screen TV.
The Power Supply Board is #BN44-00156A SE38B3T7722 Rev 1.1.

The picture went black and sound suddenly stopped.

I could get the red light on the front of the TV to blink if I repeatedly pushed the power button, but I never was able to get any picture or sound.
I unplugged the TV for a few minutes without any results.
No sound whatsoever from the set.

Reading on the web, I learned that the Power Supply capacitors could cause this problem and sure enough, several of the capacitors near the heat sinks were bulging with one showing corrosion on the top, so I figure that I'd found my problem.

I soldered in new (nichicon and Nippon) capacitors (same values), re-installed the board and got ready for my TV to work again.
I hit the on button and nothing but the red light on the lower right of the TV came on.
I still had the back off the TV, and I didn't see or hear any light or noise...only the red light.
This TV used to make a "click" when I turned it on, but there is no sound now.

I unplugged the connector to the Main Board and checked voltages (Terminal CNM 801) and I have around 3.1 VDC on terminal #3 (stand-by).
No voltages on any other pins on this connector.

On the other side of the board I unplugged the connector to the Inverter Board (Terminal CNM 802)... and checked voltages.
All I have is something less than 2V on pins 1-5, which according to marking on the board should be 24V.

I know that the voltage readings are not accurate enough, but I was in a hurry.
I checked my meter on some new batteries, and it's reading correctly.
The fuse on the TV is Good....120VAC in and out.

I just have a few questions for now.
Could bad solder joint on one of the capacitors that I replaced cause this problem?
Do the capacitors have any effect on the 24V power supply.....Would a bad capacitor affect this power source?
Is there any other fuses on this board that could affect the 24V supply?

I replaced all of the bulging capacitors:

    I've been soldering since I was 10 years old....car relays, stereo systems...etc.
But....after soldering in these capacitors I learned 3 things.
1- You guys that can do this well are really proficient and talented.
2- I definitely can't see well enough to do this kind of work without investing in a microscope or some kind of vision aid.
3- It's a lot easier to lift a pad when removing components than it is to fix it.
I can't believe how the joints look after I took a picture of them. They look OK with a magnifying glass, but the pictures tell another story.

I'm willing to take any voltage readings needed and supply any pictures if you guys are willing to help me.
I may just need to buy another Power Supply Board, but I'd like to be sure.
Just tell me what to un-plug and where to take the readings.
    All help is much appreciated.

    Sorry this is so long.

In picture 4 you have to remove that solder bridge between the 2 pads first. That's not gonna work like that. Looks like you ran out of heat with the soldering iron, where the pads are lifted. Clean up the flux with alcohol and an old tooth brush. Kinda looks like it has a fair amount of corrosion on there too?

2V standby isn't going to cut it to turn on the rest of the power supply, that needs to be fixed first.

I would get good 50W~60W soldering with good tip and flux to clean up those soldering work first then we can start checking the Voltages.

            I really appreciate the replies.

I'll admit, I wasn't proud of the solder work when I saw the pictures.
My problem is that I can't see well enough, even with a magnifying glass to discern a good solder joint when I'm working on these boards.

I will clean up the solder joints when I get some way to see them better.

Do you have any recommendations on magnification?
I can see fairly well in good light, and only need reading glasses to read, but I can't see in the fine detail required for this type of work.

I found another thread while searching the "Troubleshooting TV's and Video Sources" section that gave the specs and voltage checks for the BN44-00156A Power supply board, so I'll be doing some work before I re-post on this subject.
I also added a link on that section that leads to the BN44-00156A schematic.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
              by Asraf Atb
              Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
              by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Yoga3 Pro-1370 Board NM-A321 DEAD no power at all
              by k370
              Hi everyone,

I have a NM-A321 board that is dead, with no power at all.

When I received the laptop, the +5VPMIC line was shorted. Removing the PU3 (ISL95905) solved the short, so I ordered and replaced the ISL.

With the new ISL, the short is gone, but still no voltages at all. I measured the following rails:
              • +3VALW
              • +5VAUX
              • 1.2VSUS_PWRGD
              • 3VALW_PGD
              • 1.05VAUX_PWRGD

Additionally, the ISL95906 (PU3) is not getting any voltage on the VIN rail.

The only place on the board where I find any voltage is on the first MOSFETs, specifically:...
