      1) Put your RCC into 200 DCV mode.

      2) Put the Greenlee into resistance mode.

      3) Put the Greenlee red probe tip into the RCC Volt/ohm input jack. Put the Greenlee black probe tip into the RCC COM input jack.

      See pictures as an example. Report your reading. You should get around 10.00Mohm.

      4) Repeat steps 2 and 3, but for the 1000V DCV range.

      5) On the pcb, there is a PTC (circled in red). Measure the resistance of it. It should be in the 1 to 1.5k ohm range. The PTC can be measured in circuit (no desoldering required).

      For the next tests, do you have a variable DC power supply? If yes, set it to output 27V. If not, you can put three 9V batteries in series to get 27VDC.

      6) Measure the 27V power supply with your meter set to 20VDC. Report your reading.

      7) Measure the 27V power supply with your meter set to 200VDC. Report your reading. Is the reading steady and stable?

      8) Measure the 27V power supply with your meter set to 1000VDC. Report your reading. Is the reading steady and stable?

      For the next tests, do you have a variable DC power supply? If yes, set it to output 18V. If not, you can put two 9V batteries in series to get 18VDC.

      9) Measure the 18V power supply with your meter set to 20VDC. Report your reading. Is the reading steady and stable?

      10) Measure the 18V power supply with your meter set to 200VDC. Report your reading. Is the reading steady and stable?

      11) Measure the 18V power supply with your meter set to 1000VDC. Report your reading. Is the reading steady and stable?

      For the next tests, you will need something that has an SMPS power supply. This can be an old lcd monitor or dvd player that you may already have open. Obviously this will be high voltage so be careful.

      12) Measure the large filter capacitor on the SMPS which should be around 165VDC with your meter set to 200VDC. Report your reading. Is the reading steady and stable?

          "In order to test the small blue resin coated ceramic disk capacitor which has 104 50v specification,it is possible to test this small ceramic capacitor by making use of analogue meter.
          Set to times 10Kohm that has 12v output from the probe to check disorder of ceramic capacitor.
          It is not uncommon that testing result of digital capacitance meter is okay,But It show shorted reading when you check it with analogue meter."

          Hi

          I want to change the scale of an analog meter, to monitor the charge of an li-ion single cell, so the needle at the end would point 4.2 volts and the 0 on the meter would point 2.5 volts or so, i tried to add diodes or a zener in series with the meter but the changes of the ambient temperature also changes the voltage value on the meter
          I wonder how i can accomplish this so the meter would be precise at any temperature ?

          Greetings, new guy here but always interested in the crazy universe of modding

          We just finished construction of around 25 vacation houses, all inside the same private area.
          Each house has 3phase power , and we bought an atlas MK10 meter for each house (25 meters total ! )

          The metering on a per-house basis is done privately. Its not done by a utility company. The utility company will only charge us for the total consumption of all 25 houses together.

          Id like to do a small modification on the firmware of our MK10 to make it easier identify each house's...

          Most analog meters are actually current driven - a current is needed to deflect the pointer full scale. They can be lots of different values. There are ones that can take several amperes to swing the pointer as they have internal shunts.

          On the other hand there are many that are rated in microamps for the intent that they draw as little power as possible from the devices under test. Some are 1mA, 500µA, 200µA, 100µA, and the ubiquitous 50µA frequently used in analog VOMs. There are even 20, 25, 30 µA and even down to 10µA. Been collecting a bunch of different ratings and...
