    3 tvs 3 different issues 1 thread

I've been lurking for the passed two weeks and have now registered to try and get some assistance so I can get some sleep!

Problem tv # 1: 32 inch samsung lcd
The samsung tv has no picture just a 1 inch strip at the bottom of the screen, everything else is white horizontal lines with black background.
It has sound and turns on easily.
I've reseated all cables and ribbons with no luck.
After multiple tests I've decided must be a bad panel but I decided to ask everyone else's opinion.

Problem tv # 2 RCA led flat screen
Only turns on after multiple tries of unplugging and plugging in.
I've switched a few caps and a cold soldering joint to no luck the issue remains, I will be switching all caps on psu to see if this works tomorr only tried a few so far.
If I turn the tv off I have to redo the unplugging process to get it to power on.

Problem tv 3 : Philips 40 inch lcd turns on, back light is in on, no picture or sound, I replaced two caps that kinda looked funny and to no avail that didn't work so I reseated the cables and It did nothing. There is a clicking noise when plugged in. Also has no standby light just a white power light whenthe tv turns on

Models and pics of all board will be posted tomorrow, I decided to post thread tonight to get a head a little.

Re: 3 tvs 3 different issues 1 thread

read the stickie posts, try to post some good clear pics., of all the individual boards and pics. of how they are all connected, a pic. is worth a thousand words, it might get pretty confusing only having one thread for 3 tvs.

I agree - it will be horrendous 3 separate threads required.
I was going to try and justify that but I dont think there is any need.
Header for each thread should include make model no and brief description
of problem. In each thread if you are changing or have changed caps tell us what you used- for a power supply they should be low esr known good make from a known good source
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
        by ScHAmPi
        Hi all,

Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...

LG L192WS-BN backlight turns off after 1 second
        by www
I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

When you press the power button, the button indicator lights up. The board works
there is no image, there is no matrix initialization, there is no image on HDMI.
When turned on, the fans do not spin, but when they warm up they start spinning.

Samsung UE55F8000SZ Turns on and off immediately
        by Egidio85
good morning, I have a samsung UE55F8000SZ tv that turns on, shows the logo and turns off after 1-2 seconds.
This defect happens continuously, hearing the classic click of the relay every time.

        Power supply board BN44-00636B

disconnecting the mains and lamps from the power board always causes the same problem.
Is it normal that without anything connected this power supply turns on and off cyclically?
any suggestions on what to check?

        thanks in advance

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
        by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...
