It was dark on the right half of the screen. In the video I had already removed some of the COFs. I guess if only some of them are bad it would show up as horizontal lines (well... bands) I guess. -
I did actually. It wasn't the T-CON. On the "broken" side I tore of the COF tabs. As i pulled them off the part of the screen right next to them cleared up. It was the most satisfying feeling. I'm not sure what their function is and whether the solution is longterm viable because unfortunately I cracked the display upon reassembly.
Anyways, here's a video of the COF tabs being torn off.

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
Hi all,
Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are...
