Re: Quick question on fuses!
Pulled it mosfet off which I assume is the right one since it had black goo on the prongs, don't think there is anyway of me repairing it now because a bit of the board came with the mosfet.

Re: Quick question on fuses!
Is this the exact model? I'm just wondering as I'm pretty sure this is the problem and will need to order it.
It's underneath the board and has some black goo on the pins, look's in rough shape ha....

Re: Quick question on fuses!
UPDATE
,threw the new fuse in, and I am now getting a 6 red blinking light signal meaning a 5v fault.
I found a thread with the same issue and am hoping it is the 7u25 mosfet.

Now hopefully i can locate this sucker and get some results, any help on locating it would be appreciated.Re: Quick question on fuses!<br /> ...g light signal...

Re: Quick question on fuses!
What would the tester be used on? I googled it but only found a video on how to make one.
Where would I start to try and find shorts?
Is there a possibility of a short because of this fuse situation?
What are the chances I get lucky and it's just the fuses causing issues.
btw I ran to the electronic store and they were all out of stock on the fuses I need :/...

Re: Another LG 50PG20 power up with sound but no picture
looks like there is picture or atleast the tv is powering on. Try reseating all the cables on the bufferboard and all cables on the main board.
It looks like there is video just sparkled.
Give me a sec and ill post a link to a thread that might help.

Re: Quick question on fuses!
I already did this still no go unfortunately, well i did one on at a time I'll report back with both unplugged.
EDIT..... I'm not going to try until i find the right fuse for 1a/250v don't wanna go over amps if that's what caused this from happening in the first place....Last edited by christo; 01-15-2015, 01:47 PM.

Re: Quick question on fuses!

Quick question on fuses!
I picked up a philips 42 inch plasma tv the other day, doesn't turn on just on and off. So I unscrewed the back and bam, there's 6 caps bulged and leaking.
Got my new caps today and replaced them, no go still turned on and off.
Checked the fuses on the board and here's the funny thing and my question.
I found a fuse fully blown in half, this guy put a 20a fuse in the t8ah/250v
and the t8ah/250v the t1a250 v spot.
Would this cause the capacitors to blow?
I guess my question is can you put these higher voltage fuses in lower...

Re: RCA LED TV model # rled3258a-c
Just like to do my last update, I switched all the caps once over, still no sound.
After fiddling I realized I had two cords mixed up and put them in their correct location. Tv is up and running fine will report back if it messes up again.

Re: RCA LED TV model # rled3258a-c
Could the caps that I left on the board cause the no sound? I'm gonna replace those first before I. Bake it again...

Re: RCA LED TV model # rled3258a-c
No I didn't install when still warm I let it cool for 20 minutes and popped it in. I know the caps don't like to be baked because I had to replace 3 xD
I'm gonna pull all of them this time around....

Re: RCA LED TV model # rled3258a-c
Update, I baked it again, thing powered up and worked mint... Until i plugged my laptop and wii in to find out there's no sound xD.
I'm now going to take the main board off, look at the soldering joints for the the other board that clips into the main board. I hope it's a cold soldering joint or i'll be tossing it in the oven for a third time, I am making pretty good progress though just by baking it lol!

Re: RCA LED TV model # rled3258a-c
I baked it in the oven 375 F for 10 mins, tv actually works better now but still not turning on every time, I had it turn on and off 3 times without unplugging it.
I might bake again see what the results are. If it doesn't take this time I'll look into getting a new board or a eeprom chip

I'll check the main board out, but i was almost certain that it was a power supply issue, thanks for the tip....

40 inch philips lcd tv model # 40pfl3705d/f7 no picture
No picture, uncertain of sound because I do not have a remote with the tv to switch inputs ( or try to anyway)
backlight does come on, its brightens at first then dims but is on.
I toggled the ribbon cable on the t-con board to try and get a difference but no such luck, just blank screen.
also makes a buzzing/hissing noise hard to describe, only happens when its on....Last edited by christo; 01-13-2015, 08:19 PM.

RCA LED TV model # rled3258a-c
Doesn't turn on all the time, gotta unplug it multiple times for it to finally turn on.
I've replaced all capacitors circled in red, the ones I haven't are circled in blue.
Any idea what could be causing this?
The ones in blue haven't been replaced because I've run out of caps.
I only have a analog multimeter atm....Last edited by christo; 01-13-2015, 07:46 PM.
