wow 8k and glassless 3D technologies.

Quantum Dots looks interesting, I wonder what these new sets will look like on the inside!

It's quite interesting but a few things to mull over...

OLED TV is like plasma: excellent contrast, excellent colour, not quite as bright as LED TV, and uses more power than LED TV. In theory the "one true successor" for people who enjoy picture quality over raw brightness. It is more power efficient than plasma and potentially cheaper to make. Most of the power electronics are on the panel itself making repair difficult if not impossible, power supply requirements for 55" 1080p OLED from LG are 20V @ 11A (panel VCOM, OLED matrix), and 15V @ 1.5A (same as LCD AVDD, for TFT drive), and +22V/-8V VGH/VGL (~50mA each)

Quantum dot takes normal LED backlight in LED-LCD BLU and replaces it with QD surface, that emits yellow light when blue light hits it. Sort of like how a white LED works but in bigger format. Not a new technology, has slightly higher energy efficiency and will be cheaper to make. Any claims to better PQ are nonsense.

4K/8K is a waste of time for any screen <70". Maybe works for Americans with their big living rooms. 50" is far too big for my room. At 6 foot, my 50" Kuro has maximum resolved detail at 1080p. Moving to 4K would provide no benefit. 4K content is also currently vapourware... buying a 4K TV now is a bad idea as the standard for 4K Bluray has not yet been set in stone, it may require a different HDCP which will make current 4K TVs useless.

Exactly. A local supermarket near me has 42" 4K TVs. Seriously overkill; you'd have to sit closer than about 3 foot to get benefit of that!

I bet with broadcast 4K they'll cut bit rate right down so it'll look worse than 1080i. 4K progressive bandwidth is ~3x as much as 1080i for any given broadcast, with no major changes in picture quality. But I'm sure they'll try making it 1:1 on bandwidth...

OLED will be my next replacement when the time comes. I really like the small OLED display on my Vita and I am sure the panel displays will be even better.

I do think 4k/8K is a sales market gag imo.

yep,4k to 8k is just like you wont notice the difference, they will bring out contact lenses next, that project in 3D to watch these tv's,but make them harder to see through so going full circle you end up with 720p again, money for old rope :

I am extremely new to programming and dipping into this. I picked up a XGECU T48 Programmer and have the correct socket for EMMC.
I took the EMMC off a working main board with no problems and threw it into the programmer. I click analysis IC and it gives me a report (attached) of the current EMMC. Model H26M41204HPR

I'm looking for boardview and schematics for acer swift 3 SF314-512T-56CT (this model https://store.acer.com/en-us/swift-3...f314-512t-56ct).
this is my personal laptop and i want these for a few mods and for future reference (i have a tendency to break stuff but at least I'm good at fixing them).

first i want to swap the memory chips in order to add more ram, (i have the tools and experience for BGA and reballing).
from what i understand this process will be to swap the chips and to reconfigure the memory straps or to write a custom bios.

                          Hi friends of electronics

What you see in the video and pictures attached is the circuit for charging the batteries of a DC motor.

The problem is that this circuit cannot charge the batteries (3 1800mAH NiMH batteries) any more. When the circuit was OK, its green LEDs lit up one at a time to show that the batteries have charged more. But now that the circuit is flawed, LEDs light up as you see in the video and at the same time successive beeps are heard.

Please help me fix this circuit.

Last night I put it all together and it came on beautifully. 20V- Apple Logo. I celebrated and knocked the LCD connector loose right away while holding the laptop. Now, it wont boot and it cycles on the volt meter.
Cycle 20v - .02a then volt meter goes off, then it comes on and rinse and repeat. Classic sign of a MacBook short. I looked at the board with my thermal camera and I can...
