    Polaroid fxx-321c - No Signal

Trash picked 32" lcd Polaroid. Turns on fine, menu pops up etc as it should.

Problem is it doesn't detect any input whatsoever. I'm guessing mainboard issue but what specific component would cause this?

Re: Polaroid fxx-321c - No Signal

Post some pics of the setup. The TLX-03201b I found in the trash has a separate input connection strip that plugs into the mainboard. If yours is like that try reseating it first.

More than likely the tuner circuit has failed, I had a vizio lose DTV channels, had to replace the tuner board. It was a separate board on mine, not part of mainboard.

Check for power to the tuner.

Here are some pics, I don't really know what I'm looking for here or where to trace power to the tuner?

Let me know if you need any specific angle or anything that might help

Re: Polaroid fxx-321c - No Signal

I noticed three bulged caps on the power supply and one of the big filter caps on mains side. Was only able to replace the three caps on secondary and still no signal.

Possible mains filter cap could be causing this issue or still a mainboard/tuner problem?

So you can see user setup menu on the screen but it does not show any Video from DVD, cable box, or PC?

Correct just keeps saying no signal. Cable box coaxial input shows static. Only the one hdmi input seems to work

You do have main board problem, I wonder if this TV was hit by surge or lighting.

There's a connector at the top left of mainboard labeled 12v 12v and on both I measure 18v. Should I try replacing that bulged mains filter cap? There's two, I imagine it's a pfc set up

Are the main caps rated at 450VDC?
The pictures are too dark for me to see the details on the power supply board, if it has PFC, then the DC Voltage should be >360VDC.
But since you indicated that it works fine on one of the HDMI, then I doubt that it will be the power supply board.

Yes both rated 100uf at 450v

If it's not the power supply, any way to figure out where the issue lies? I can post better pics of something if needed to help in diagnosing.

Why would there be 18v at the two 12v lines I mentioned?

12V output is not tightly regulated power supply because it is for running the Audio amplifier that does not need tightly regulated power to run.
I am not sure how much we can do on the main board without the diagram, you may want to do real details visual inspection of the main board both sides to see if it has any sign of damages. My be check the Voltage regulator ICs, ect.

you should be able to open the metal can of the tuner. Have a look inside. Maybe you see something. Check that the tuner is actually getting proper power. No power, or not correct power, no tuning. my post #3. Looks like there is a regulator U23 (what is it?) in front of the tuner. May be also that the pins don't make good connection in the RF terminal.

Hi everyone, over the past few months i have taken a deep dive into motherboard diagnostics and I love the challenge. Currently im trying to learn all about the signals that travel around the motherboard, such as frequencies, enable signals High and Low logic states etc. And i have been learning to read and using the Schematics for this board that i requested here on Badcaps forum, from a few months ago, this is such a great place for these.

                            by Mirenia
                            Hi everyone,

I've got a little "problem child": my Dell Latitude 7420 2-in-1, which had a faulty mainboard.
I replaced it, but ever since, the touchscreen no longer works — and honestly, I’m running out of ideas…

In Windows Device Manager, I just see an I2C HID Device with error code 10. Sporadically, the touchscreen is recognized correctly for just a few seconds, but I haven’t been able to determine under which circumstances this happens.

The touchscreen also doesn’t work in UEFI/BIOS, although it’s enabled...
