by k24a1Hello, I have a strange issue with a laptop that I'm working on fixing up for a friend of mine, and it appears as though the LCD backlight control is not reliable. The LCD backlight flickers sometimes with inconsistent brightness. The controls are no better.. when I go 1/3 of the way in the brightness controls it will get bright but flicker quite obviously, and when I go all the way to what SHOULD be full brightness, it becomes darker. The flickering is less severe at lower brightness, but more severe at higher. the backlight will literally flicker on and off when I set it to the lowest brightness...

by sliceypeteHello All,
My Samsung LE52B620 started to have backlight flickering about a year ago, it would only last for about 10 mins and then the backlight would stay on.
about a month ago the backlight flickering is constant and does not stop.
I think it's a problem with the power supply board (BN44-00267b) or maybe the backlight is dying?
I checked and all the caps look to be fine.
I do not believe it is a problem with the mainboard, since I unplugged it from the power supply and the backlight came out but still flickers.

by triplefourthis tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even... -
by EffiSonHi. Could anyone on the forum help me find the cause of the problem?...
The board is LA-B111P Rev:1A comes from Lenovo Y50-70.
I have a identified the damaged R205 resistor, and connect a jump wire over it So it restores the backlight but causing strange problems
1. With Battery ONLY plugged in laptop works fine
2 .With Charger ONLY plugged in laptop works fine as well
3. Connecting both battery and charger at the same time shows a strange flickering screen. The flickering is not constant, it is completely random (and I think it depends on the load -
Hi to all,
I have this laptop that suddendly won't boot.
When I plug the power adapter, the charging LED turns on.
When I press the power button, I can hear the fan spinning, and the screen start flashings, with the frontal green LED flashing too.
No other vital signs.
I reseated the RAM, changed the RAM, changed CMOS battery, disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled all the boards, changed thermal paste and reflowed, tried the NOVO button (the tiny reset button on the right side) to enter BIOS, tried F2 or Fn + F2, changed power adapter, but with no luck.
