Samsung HLT6187 power supply cap issuee

In my 62in Samsung HLT6187 i found 2 bulging caps on the secondary power board i replaced them with new caps. Does anyone have experience with this issue on these tvs it is an led dlp tv. It cycles through the power up for a few secs than all three leds on the front flash three times and than it repeats. It started out taking longer and longer to turn on each time until finally it just cycles through without ever coming on. I am going to replace the rest of the caps on the board even though they are not bulging yet. Any advice would be appreciated

Is your DLP Bulb bad? A bad bulb can prevent set from turning on if bulb is open and draws no current

The red led on this tv has a history of burning out prematurely they are supposed to last 80,000 Hrs however i have replaced it twice in 7 years

That is normal for those to look like that.

Ok thanks magicsmoke i was not sure. Those are on the main power board, the ones i found that were bad were on the sub board but i wanted to double check.

Everything I find says this set is a DLP rear projection TV.
These sets use a high intensity projection bulb. And three LED.
The bulb is in a different section of the set.

Some late-model DLPs did away with the bulb and replaced it with LEDs. This is one of them. No bulb at all.

Yes Tom you are correct. That was one of the reasons i bought this tv as the leds were advertised as having an 80,000 hour life span, and no bulb to need to change every couple years. For some reason though the red led fails prematurely at around $100 to $130 a pop, every couple years, just my luck though. Thanks also Ltank for the replies and dont feel bad, even the tech at the repair store i went to kept trying to sell me a bulb or color wheel. After multiple times trying to get him to understand that this model didnt have them, I stopped going to that store lol. The Full model number is HLT6187SAX/XAA

                        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
                        by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Samsung BN44-00262A H37F1-9SS power supply help finding blown value components!
                        by cheeky2
This Samsung combined power supply and inverter was replaced a while ago from a Samsung 37inch LE37B530P7W TV. However I would like to repair this one.
I have replaced the Mosfets Q1820 and Q1821 ( FDPF7N50U) which were both blown and the fuse FM802S. The schematic for this power supply that is attached doesn't relate to this power supply as the driving transistors and diodes are D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 are nowhere on the schematic!
Does anyone know what the components for D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 should be? I ask as I did change the Mosfets...
