So I ended up with a RCA 32" Tv that the p.s. board was shot, and a Sanyo 32" that the screen was broken in the panel. After taking both tvs apart I notice a the inverter board takes the same plug and T-con's are nearly a direct match. So I decided what the heck Ill swap the panels out should work in theory. Anyway after swapping them out I discovered the panel back light turns on for about half a second and then just starts flickering off and on. You can hear noise coming from the inverter board that coensides with the flickering.
Thinking it was a bad swap out I remembered the broken panel did the same thing before I replaced it, to be sure I hooked up the old panel and the same thing is happening.
Im kind of at a loss on what to check, I know it has to be something related to power supply probably but Im not sure what, or where to start.
I did take some voltage readings from the pins going to the mainboard and the inverter board, I get 24v to the inverter where it says I should and 24v, 5v, and 12v going the main board where it says I should. What is there to check next?
Attached is a photo of the of the back of the tv, any insight is helpful. I am eager to learn.
