Re: Sony Bravia KDL 46hx820 6 blinks
Yes I did.... but coincidence or not I think either the power supply died or I touched something I shouldn't . only getting 3.3 stby now on connector and no ther readings. no standby red light on front of tv . I could hear the relay clicking on and off before it died.Do you suspect Power supply is the problem or too soon to say?Last edited by waybel; 12-10-2014, 09:38 PM.Comment

Re: Sony Bravia KDL 46hx820 6 blinks
OK, that relay on the power supply board will click on when the POWER ON pin8 is >2.5V, right now it is 0V per your reading on post 24.
So right now the main board is not sending the ON signal to turn on the relay.Never stop learning

Re: Sony Bravia KDL 46hx820 6 blinks
OK, we can try testing the power supply board, you will disconnect the cable on CN6151 which goes to the main board.
On CN6151 you will put a 100~500 Ohms resistor between pin 10 STBY3.3V and pin 1 (POWER ON), another resistor between pin 10 STBY3.3V and pin 8 (T-CON ON).
Plug the TV into the outlet and no need to hit the power switch, you should then hear the main power relay clicks on, then check the DC Voltage RIGHT at the TWO LEGS OF C6530 Main filter cap, it should have >360VDC on the two legs if the PFC Voltage circuit is OK.
Check the DC Voltage between GND pin of CN6151 and pin 28 (T-CON_VCC12V) it should have 12VDC, pin 14 (AU_12V) it should also have 12VDC.Never stop learning

Re: Sony Bravia KDL 46hx820 6 blinks
So the power supply is working and we are able to force on the PFC, SWITCHED VCC 12V for the T-CON, and SWITCHED 12V.
Now we need to look into the backlights section next. I will have to see which pin is the BL_ON command line next, you can see that there is another connector from the power supply board that goes to the LED driver board.Last edited by budm; 12-13-2014, 11:27 AM.Never stop learning

Re: Sony Bravia KDL 46hx820 6 blinks
OK, put in another resistor for BL_ON and STBY too to see if the backlights will come on, you will have to have LED driver board connected.Last edited by budm; 12-13-2014, 04:18 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Sony Bravia KDL 46hx820 6 blinks
OK, I just look at the diagram I upload, CN6801 PIN 14 LED ON is the one that you need to use the resistor to force on the backlights (wire connected to the pin 14 will have to be removed).
So you do not have any DC Voltage at CN6801 PIN 1~4 (VLED_VCC)?Never stop learning

by PopsCapsI have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times... -
by matwanHello,
I have problem with SONY 55X90J. After several check status is as below;
1. Running power board as stand alone:
TCON_12V =~ 12.6V
EVDD V On Max 24V= 19V.
2.Running power board with TCON as stand alone:
Effect as below, attched.
3. When bottom LVDS cable is disconnected no blinks, but of course no TCON 12V and EVDD.
"I'm almost sure it's a defective panel, but maybe someone has encountered a similar issue on their screen.
Best regards.... -
by GoodCapDudeHi everyone. First post on Badcaps!
I am trying to fix a Sony 940E from 2017 that either starts normally (and works perfectly until turned off) or goes straight to the 6 blinks error code without showing anything on the screen. It is frustrating to know that it can still work perfectly but is barely usable because of the difficulty starting it up. I am willing to try to short the BL_ERR but I would like to avoid that if possible. Does anyone have a view on this? Thanks a lot.... -
by brithepi2kHi,
I’ve got a Sony KD-65XE8596 here that has no standby light coming on. I’ve tested the power board with the test meter, the TV needs 3.4 for the standby but only getting 2.4. Anything that I can change/check on the board to get it working? Pictures of the board are included.
cheers...5 Photos - Loading...
