    Cheers Tom,

I think i'll buy a new strip to be on the safe side, maybe the strip itself is faulty? I have no idea how to check it, I'd need some step by step help with that one if your up to it...

Just spent 2 hours trying to buy the strip, no joy.. no Samsung service center will sell me one and the only place I can find on the web is in Russia...

Does anyone know where I can buy one?

Only source of one I can think of is a smashed set.

I had the same problem with a Samsung U32F5570. I bought a tv with smashed screen and replaced the complete LED Backcover. You can give us the BN number of the stripes. In my case they was BN41-02032A (LED Interface FHD32" Sharp). I tried to desolder the faulty led. But it wont work for me. This flexible stripes are hard to solder...

            Update:

First I want to say thank you for all the help, I couldn't of done this without your input... this is a great community here

Yay! I've got the set working, I bridged the blown fuse/resistor with 2 strands of very fine copper wire and that has opened the LED circut.

The problem LED strip doesn't light up but I moved it to the bottom of the screen and It's hardly noticeable when its running.

A TV breaker on ebay has just contacted me and he has a strip for me, nice guy and very helpful too. I don't think I'm allowed to post any details of his company but if anyone wants it please pm me and I'll pass his details on.

Once again, thank you for your help.

            Kindest regards

            Mac

Final update, I got hold of a LED Strip from a TV breaker, fitted it and now the set is working fine!

Hope this helps anyone with a similar issue.

                Update.

I have the same problem on a UE32F5000AK Set.

The burnt component in the pictures is a 4E SMD Diode.

Linking it out seems a bit risky to me, I'm gonna see if I can't change it and go from there

Hi, i've just finished repairing one of these Tv's that had Sound But No Picture, i thought it was a lost cause until i shined a torch onto the screen and seen and seen the No Signal message. I decided to completely strip the tv down and examined all LED's with a multimeter and a home made 3.2v DC LED Tester which found 1 bad LED that went open circuit. you can simply bypass the LED as i did but you can replace the faulty LED if needs be Hope me scratching my head for hours have helped you all out.

                      Hi,
While this thread is a year old, it's the only thing I've found in the last two hours that fits my issue perfectly.
samsung ue32f5000ak ... No pic...but can be seen shining a light on the screen. Sound ok, all else ok.
Noted on switch in, led blinks 6 times.
This happened once before , exact symptoms but it was repaired under warranty, it was only a few months old at the time , but I've no idea what was done to fix it.
Convinced it's a repeat of that fault ..and it seems identical to the original posters fault here.. So question is, can anyone direct e to what's gone ' poof '..?

I'd rather fix it than replace it...

                      Thank you..

Just check the DC Voltage at the LED connector and tell us what you get
(black probe on the chassis), failed LED for this model and just about other TV with LED backlights are very common.
You can also disconnect the cable between the main board and the power supply then apply AC to the power supply board, if the power supply board and the LEDs are OK then the backlights should come on right away and stay on as long as the AC is applied to the power supply board.

Thank you very much for the reply and info. I used to fix, for myself, TVs and repair car radios etc but these types of tv are new territory t me...but I'll have a go.
As i say, it's been fixed for the same fault before by a Samsung shop in Liverpool under warranty and it was a very quick job, there and back in 24 hrs..so I'm hoping, fingers crossed etc , I can sort it 😏

Just a further to this.. I've not had chance to look at it yet...but before I do, I forgot to mention that for quite some months before it failed as above, the screen had about four what I can only describe as dark , shaded or black areas on it. Didn't affect the viewing too much but I'm wondering if this was a prelude to its failure and , will getting the screen to work again, cure this blotchy issue as well ??
                            Thank you..

It may mean that some of the LEDs have shorted out so you see dark area when the shorted LEDs are but now those shorted LEDs may have gone open circuit so you will not get any backlights any more.

So am I correct in thinking that once I sort the issue it has now, then the black shaded area issues will be sorted at the same time?

It should if ALL LEDs are on.

Re: Samsung UE32F5000AK sound ok, no picture.

This thread started several years ago, but Samsung TVs still seem to fail. My model is a UE32F5000Ak as mentioned in this thread. I have exactly the same problem os Macwireworld - have sound, but black screen, can see text on screen with a torch. The photographs are identical to those of macwireworld. The voltages from the power board to the main control board are:
                                    12.8V
                                    12.8V
                                    12.8V
                                    12.8V
                                    ground
                                    5.1V
                                    5.1V

The voltages from the other side of the power board to the LEDs are all 0V except for pin 12 which varies from about 195V - 210V, as noted by Macwireworld. This would seem to suggest that one of the led strips is open circuit. From the printed label on the power board there appear to be four strips : 1+,1-, 2+,2-, 3+,3-, 4+,4-. there only appears to be voltage on pin 12. Are all of the diodes in series?

Re: Samsung UE32F5000AK sound ok, no picture.

I have now got inside the TV and have the four LED strips exposed. None of them come ON when power is applied. The diode look okay - no burn marks. There are nine diodes per strip. Are they wired in series or parallel? There is no voltage across th ends of the strips, which suggests that the power supply is faulty.

They appeared to be wired in series, so with 36 diodes and with a forward voltage for a white diode of about 3.3V the total is 118V.

When I measure from the anode of strip 1 to the cathode of the last strip I get 0V, but when I measure from the anode of strip 1 to ground I get a voltage of 120V, when I measure from the anode of the second strip I get about 90V and the leds on the first strip glow. I don't know where this is getting me!
