32 inch lcd sound no picture

hi guys i have a beko 32wla520hd lcd tv.just wondering if anyone could help me with it.the fault is the picture goes from the tv but the sound stays.swapped the inverter board and the tcon board but the fault is still there.looked at the power board and cant see any raised caps and only have a multimeter so cant even check the capacitors.but when the picture does go and sound stays when i turn the tv off then back on the picture returns.not realy experienced with tvs have fixed a few by swapping the power board caps for new ones.just wondering if it would be worth swapping the caps on this tv power board.any advice would be appreciated

Does this happen on all input signals like HDMI/Scart?

Sounds like it could be a bad main av board or even a bad ccfl lamp that is causing the inverter not to start, have you check that there is voltage going to the inverter.

thanks for your speedy reply guys.yes its happening with all outputs.i will upload some pictures of the guts of the tv.maybe you guys can point out where i need to check for voltage using my multimeter.

so these are some pics as you can see in the inverter cable at the top of the mainboard not sure if that looks like a burnt cable second from the end,could that be the cause? as you can see there is no way to test the inverter while its connected to the mainboards as it is under the main chasse.i took a picture of the old inverter i pulled out.can i check voltage from mainboard to inverter from that inverter cable at the top of the mainboard.once again any help is appreciated.

Check if the psu and motherboard are giving voltage to the inverter, dont test the inverter only test the connectors coming off the psu/mainboard.

could you explain in detail how i do this.im new to a multimeter.do i put the red and black cable of the multimeter in the red and black on the mainboard inverter connector.did you notice the burnt cable in that picture?and how would i check the psu.thanks in advance

Can you take a picture of your meter please just help clarify things better.

this is my multimeter.as i say i am new to this kind of operation i have repaired things like ghd cables ghd fuses iphone screens but there basicly taking things apart and replacing voltage troubleshooting is all new to me i do appreciate your help on this

picture 6 the plug/socket with the damaged wire can you pull the wire block out and check the pins to see if they are melted or damaged.

took the plug out of the socket and the pins on the mainboard are fine as are the clips inside the plug.is there a way to cut that burnt looking cable back and reinsert it into the plug.looks like its hanging on by a thread.

To test that cable simply set your meter to ohms and the probe on one end of the wire and on the pin out on the bottom of the inverter and see if the ammount of ohms changes this will show if there is a connection or not make sure the set is off, also pull the wire block out of the connector and inspect it physically then resolder it if it is loose.

Ok now put the inverter back in and set your meter to 20-200v dc then put the black probe to a ground then use the red probe to see if there is a voltage going though the connectors to the inverter while the set is on, can you get the model numbers of the psu ect and I will find a pin out diagram and show you where to test.

ok took some voltage readings hope you can read them.this was with the tv on.

Can you take a picture of the sceen with the set on so we can see if the backlights are on or not.

so the problem with this tv is that from a cold start it would work for like an hour then loose picture but not sound with scart,tried svideo yesterday and the same.got sky hd plugged in today and its been going for 3 to 4 hours and hasnt lost picture yet.gonna leave it plugged into the sky hd all night and i will report back if it does loose picture.i plugged it into the sky hd to try and get a picture that reecey requested when it does loose picture but as i say its been going 3 to 4 hours on a hd connection with no loss of picture.

So those Voltage readings on the inverter connector as shown when the backlights are not on?
