    Panasonic TH-50PZ700U Screen Shorted?

I've got a Panasonic TH-50PZ700U that had the 5 blink error. I replaced the upper buffer board. That didn't change anything so I replaced the Y-sus and and upper buffer board, the screen came up for 2-sec then it shut back down. I removed the upper buffer board, and now the tv comes on with the bottom half of the screen working perfect. So I put the old Y-sus board back In and it works with the lower buffer board, but goes into shut down when I install the upper buffer board. How can I tell if the screen is shorted, and would it short the upper board out?

Thanks for any help and or advice!

5 blinks? 7 blinks is more commonly SU/SD/SC board.

Well if the screen is working with the lower buffer attached and not the upper I would replace the upper buffer.

Sounds like the upper buffer has bad IC's on it and needs to be fixed or replaced.

Also, when replacing those buffer boards, MAKE SURE to get those ribbon cables in correctly they are a PITA and require some patience and need to be put in straight on. You should feel a small click followed by a more aggressive click if set in correctly. (I believe)

This is where I would start!
