Insignia NS-LCD37 flashes please wait then turns off

This is my first post so I hope that I have posted it in the correct section. I posted on one of the other threads pertaining to a similar problem but the thread seemed dead. I have followed all of the fallowing threads but have come up empty handed.

I have the ns-lcd37 and the TV will power up flash please wait for a second and power off. I have tried forcing the TV to an input on start up checking the screen with a flash light, and it has no video or sound after the please wait screen flashes. I have tested all the outputs coming off of the power supply board and all appear to be the correct voltages. In addition I have checked the transformers on the inverter board and all seem to be at 2.2k ohms. I have also tested all of the fuses on the inverter board and all have continuity. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Attached are pictures of all boards with model numbers as well

Installed new main board (6HA0136910 - 37HA37) and the TV will respond to the Power button, when plugged in the TV remains off until power button is pressed and will stay on until the power button is pressed again to turn off. But now it seems when i power up the TV, the green light will come on but the TV has no sound or video now and doesn't even flash the please wait screen any more. I am assuming now that it had to have been a cascade failure because now i am getting a proper PON voltage, but am at a loss for what could be wrong now. Any suggestions for what i should be checking next?

Re: Insignia NS-LCD37 flashes please wait then turns off

i just picked up this same tv the other day, it was missing the PSU and the IR/LED board
i found a psu for 17 bux so i took a chance and bought it.
now i have the same problem you were having with the flashing please wait... and then going blank.
its a little different though. because my tv does respond to the power button, and it doesnt turn off after please wait, it stays on until i press power again.
but at no time during any of this do i get sound or video, or can i change inputs.
i have also checked with a flashlight and running my n64...
i also have all the expected voltages on the PSU board, but i havent checked the inverter yet

here's the service manual...havent read it yet but it may be of...uhh..service

Re: Insignia NS-LCD37 flashes please wait then turns off

hmm..the top most inverter's pins seem to read 2.09k on mine while all the others read 2.19, 2.18, 2.15 at the lowest...

is the 2.09k cause for replacement?

would this board work? it looks the same but has a slightly different number
          http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-LN37...item1c403f576e

i ask cause its the cheapest one i can find, and theres 2 of them!

whats really puzzling me is how i appear to have a main board that works (will on and off properly) but i cant get sound or picture! usually i am able to see something with a strong light, and press input until i hear sound...
does anyone know if this tv is simple with pressing the input to change the source? i have run into tvs where changing the input was not as simple as just pressing the button. you had to select the input and press another button to ok it. big pain in the ass, but i guess it keeps u from accidentally changing the source when it is working...ruins your day when youre trying to troubleshoot though!

I was testing the TV and found that the smallest connector coming from the power supply to the main board looks like the signal to tell the power supply to turn on the inverter board.( its the 3 wire connector ) i unplugged this and then plugged in the TV and the inverter/back light seems to kick on so that led me to believe that the inverter board was fine

i think as long as the transformers are all above 2K that they should be fine, as long as they are not like a high reading like 47k or not bottomed out like 0K

If your inverter board is like my board you would want to look for http://www.ebay.com/itm/CPT-CLAA-370...item3f2dea18d9 (4H.V1838.401/D)

i tested the 2 fuses on the inverter board and they are .3 ohms, so fine...but when the tv is on, i only get 23.5v on either side of the fuses...shouldnt it be 24? is this why its turning off?

oh and when you say you unplugged that wire and then turned on the tv, the backlight stays on now?

pretty sure i did this same thing before, and it makes it so that as soon as i press the power button the backlight flashes for an instant. but i do not see "please wait" on the screen.

normally it takes a good 5 seconds before the backlight kicks on for a moment and i see "please wait"

not sure if seeing the backlight flash for an instant like that with one of the connectors unplugged "proves" anything..but maybe u know something i dont?

Re: Insignia NS-LCD37 flashes please wait then turns off

There are 3 fuses on the inverter board, 2 large ones on either end of the board and one very small one in the middle of the board that has a D on top of it

23.5V vs 24V not going to cause a fault

were you getting video and sound after the "please wait" on the original main board? did u just press input until u heard sound? but u couldnt turn it on or off, it just came on by itself and you could only turn it off by unplugging?
how would input work but not power on/off?

                            all my transformers on the inverter board are reading 2.1k and (f1 = .7)(f2 = .4)(f3 = .4)

no it would come up flash please wait and then instantly turn off almost like its power cycling.

would turn on by it self and would only turn off when i unplugged it

i think in all the tv's ive worked on, if it was just the inverter was out, or unplugged, the tv would still function just fine...just with no backlight (really dark but u can see video with a flashlight). is this one different? does it freak out and crash if theres no inverter? if someone had a working one, i would ask them to unplug the inverter and see what happens. see if they get the "please wait" flash or not...see if they get video and sound... if they did, then i would suspect mainboard problem here...but if they get the "please wait" and crash then i would suspect my mainboard is doing what it's supposed to, and theres a problem in my inverter somewheres...

well i was looking on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=ns-lcd37
and it appears to be the 32 inch version of the same TV, same boards and such, and they had said that it was the power supply fuses i think
