Ok I did some tech school and got jstd001 and ipca610 soldering circuit boards. Electronic assembly and I have a yr under my belt of doing TV repair. I can do LCDs and led but have trouble with plasmas and have worked on a few dlps. I would like to get a job. But I don't know what type of fields I could get into with this soldering certifications. Possibly would like to get a job going out in the fields to do house calls for TV repair. Can anybody guide me on what are my options or where to look. Thanks

Re: i need guidance on how to find a electronics job
I retired from Offshore Industrial Electronic Technician. I had two year trade school but got a lot of certifications on my own.
Look online at ETA .ORG or ISCET they have testing and certifications that are available through proctor ed exams at College's. The give you a list of books to read and study. They are not easy but you would be a step above others that apply for the same job.
I am certified in Six different fields of electronics.Last edited by Ltank; 09-30-2014, 09:51 PM.

Doing TV repairs is not a good job and even running your business is very tough, but you can try.
It's much better to service some expensive professional equipment like medical for example.
Also hi-tech companies normally have R&D and test labs, there is some good work for technicians over there.
