    sony bravio kdl-46ex723

Okay guys ill try to make this short. I bought a 46in sony from a pawn shop.. I knew it wasn't working but got it cheap.. I plugged it in nothing happened no led light no nothing so first I looked for the schematics and found out the mainboard was defected so I found one put it in and it turned on for bout 5 sec backlight came on. Then all of a sudden it shut down and the standby light started blinking twice.. So I looked at the schematic it say 2 blinks mean its a OVP(overage voltage protection)problem. From my knowledge ovp has to do with the power ic in the power board so I changed the power ic nothing happen so I just decided to buy another power board and still nothing happen im getting frustrated.. when I bought the mainboard I knew it needs a firmware update I have it on a usb stick but cant get the tv to turn on to recognize it...Guys I have 2 power boards and 2 mainboards (in this tv its a G board and a B board ) I do believe the power board is fine I think its a firmware problem but I cant get it to recognize the usb please help anybody

Since it won't start up don't you have to force the update somehow on these? I forget how it's done but on some other Sony models I remember it has to be on a MemoryStick card and you had to hold some key down while powering up. Sorry can't help more

Check or replace r6541/r6542 and r6537/r6538 all are 2meg 1/2 watt and 1 watt. This is for 2 blinks.

Not sure if Sony has this but on many Sharp sets you can hold down the power button for like 10 seconds and clear an overload fault.
