    Vizio M470NV LED TV Distorted picture

    I pick up two Vizio this weekend. One M470NV LED TV and Vizio VF551XVT LCD TV. The M470NV does power on but the picture is distorted.

    The Vizio VF551XVT had a crack screen and will be parted out.
    Vizio VF551XVT is a 240hz too bad the panel is cracked.

    The M470NV I haven't cracked it open yet. I'm hoping to find a ribbon cable loose or a poor connection. I'm happy its not a stuck on logo problem. I check for parts on the web, there is a PC board inside instead of a T-CON and It maybe the problem.

    I paid $70.00 for the M470NV with internet apps I believe it's about 3 years old. I will post picture of the inside later.

      Looks like tab bonds or panel to me hope I'm wrong bro.

          mmartell, you are right, This look very nice and I hate to part is out. 1st the seller have been inside. I found a fuse on the PC board with a wire solder on it, so the fuse was blown. one ribbon was disconnected because it cause smoke and a burn mark on the panel board. So one of the bonding tab is damage.

          So I'm gotta test this TV and part it out also with the Vizio VF551XVT.
          That how the chips fall !!

                  Have a 42" of this series with TFT tab bond failure due to excessive windex, blue corrosion built up all over the SMD parts.

                      Did some tested, all HDMI ports are working, but the image on the screen is reverse. this mean a bad PC board is possible?

                      looking at the metal frame around the panel, there is a water stain residue.

                      so most likely the owner was cleaning the screen and liquid ran down into panel board circuit.

                              Hello, i am working on Vizio M70-C3. It can hardly power on, it takes 15 power button presses or remote. Seems like eeprom problem that I seen before but all reading online says that this tv has power board or main board problem.

                              I have a Samsung UN55TU700DFXZA with a distorted picture and I thought it was a bad panel. I had a similar board with one number off and still tried it to see what the issue could be. The picture came out clear with only missing blue hue I think. I found a replacement board for $30 but wanted to learn if this would be the main IC or possibly something else. I don't have service manual so looking to learn about these cheap sets....

                              Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

                              HI all,
                              hope someone point to the possible issue before I start buying replacement parts.
                              Tv starts normal and responds to remote fine, PSU voltages mesured fine 19v was 18.9V under load and 19V with main board disconnected.
                              Backlight stays on all the time,
                              Sound works fine.
                              screen keeps changing form black to full picture in about 1sec intervals.
                              Picture looks fine with no visible artifacts.
                              I have disconnected backlights and flashlight test confirmed that picture is still doing the same.


                              Disconnecting left and right ribbons on...
