Did you try to fix it or did you discover a fault unfixable ? Because I got a similar issue was wondering if anyone would try to help me. The PSU only shows a green light not flashing and it only clicks once but no picture or sound seems to be dead any solution ??

    Hi,

Ok I'll check for shorts then, I know your right its a big and heavy TV, a bit outdated I know! But I am willing to try and fix it, just to learn.

So basically I need to check continuity on every component on the X/Y boards?
    Thanks

I would start looking for shorts on Y-SUS/X-SUS....

But--Wouldn't waste time on it--They ALWAYS have HORRIBLE pictures, with an odd grainyness--especially of edges etc....

Thats the trouble with those sets--Chicken or egg. Only 'easy' way is to start changing boards--for KNOWN good ones from a working set--Thats what Philips/Hitachi do/did when they were serviced....

    Hi
I put the board back in, Any ideas on what to do next? Would it be worth changing every cap on PSU? Thanks

As far as I recall--Its I2C bus controlled, as are all the voltages it produces--You'll not get it to fire up outside the set.

Typical Bloody Philips! More trouble than they worth!

Yes, we want to find out how to force the psu on without mainboard( to detect if fault is on psu or mainboard). Any ideas? I'm not familiar with this psu ( or any Phillips psu)

Most supplies will be 0 with the board Out of the set....

The Mainboard makes the PSU turn on to derive the other supplies such as Va Vs etc....

OK - isee the long list of voltages early on but perhaps you do do them again by connector. At least on the 8pin 1P11. and give the pin description.
If you load up the pdf and open it in adobe reader you can search it by clicking on the binocular icon and type 1P11.

At this point in time I am willing to try anything to get some life into it lol But yeh I don't want to do any further damage.

I have tried probing various + - points and I'm getting voltages in some areas, but to be honest I don't know what im looking for without guidance.

    Thanks for the help

    Thanks Martino,

    Sounds like a good plan!

Ok here are some photos, thanks

(btw, you probably already know this, but only connectors CN8009 + CN8010 are connected in this tv, the other 5 above are not connected to anything). thanks

can't find a schematic for this thing
Can you post a upclose picture of the plug that goes to the main board? top side and also bottom side of board? So we can clearly see the printings beside that plug?
I would like to figure out how to force the powerboard on without the mainboard.
I gotta say,it's always scary to work on a board where someone before you did a butcher job on it,you never know what all he shorted out in a attempt to repair it...
If we can figure out how to force the psu on ,then we can see if you get the VS and VA etc...

The circuit of D6003 and main filter caps only become active when the powerboard get's switched on by mainboard, till then there will be no power in that part of the board.
The standby circuit seems to be working as he has 12vstandby and 5.3 volt..
Am I correct that this is a samsung based TV? Could we get the board number of the power supply? PS-426********* ??

Philips 50PUS6503 - dead panel? Picture
    by Rubenlily
    Hey,

I gave up on my last TV and got a new one to try.

Only vertical lines. Sound is OK. Screen is black with a few white lines until I change channel, then these colors gradually starts filling up the screen.

Is this fixable in any way or should I just give up on this one too?...

How can I be sure that my EC chip is dead?
    by double_DD
    Hi all,

As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...

    by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

PHILIPS 40PFL7007 TV DEAD. D501 testing SHORT on DMM
    by vikivng
Hi guys pls can someone help with this set..
    Tv doesnt not power on.
    No standby light.
There is a burn mark by the leg of D501 diode.
The diode tests short in both directions.
I have been reading this usually means the diode is faulty? As normally would be open.
I have not yet taken voltages since this is obviously short I would like to replace it.
Can someone help me with a substitute for this diode since it seems not to be the standard type?...
