    SONY KDL-46R473A ALMOST DEAD NO STB

    Hello to everyone in this wonderful forum.
    I have this SONY LCD TV KDL_46R473a
    PSU GL5 APS350 :1-888-122- 12
    MAINBOARD FY13_EU IP-012C101-4010
    black screen ,no STB no life almost death.
    on PS all the required volts are present 394V on the main cap and those on cold side 12.41V,3.45 and 3.45 are on
    Also 3,5,and 12v are on.
    nothing happens if i disconnect the PSU from the mainboard as on Samsung because here i think the mainboard gives the signal to the ps.
    don't know what to do next all suggestions and advice are very welcome

    from yours description and messing , that you don't have front LED and no error code, the suspect here the SoC MT5367 which IR and Front LED supplied direct from it.

    however you have integrated T-CON on Panel, did you check the fuse on Panel Puffer boards close to the LVDS socket if it had 12V , in case yes... disconnect the U ribbon at panel from one side., one things more think about this TV from 2013 i just wounder too if the LED BL still survived until now

        Hi Diah on the whole Panel Ribbon it's 0V there is no power being delivered from the mainboard . but there is power on the Mainboard

          this mean as i wrote before the SoC. MB need to replace... upload high resolution photo of yours MB from Top side Only... we may understand more this issue

                      no it is exactly near the socket CN201 the right side there are 5 big and to small capacitors the 3 big ones under they bib on both sides

If yes, then this is already at the output of the dc/dc converter, the choke also has a short circuit between gnd, so we need to determine what is shorting, it could be the capacitors themselves and the converter or the chips that sit on this bus... What is the marking on this converter (8 pin.)?

                                Z1043P1 is the AOZ1043PI converter from Alpha and Omega Semiconductor, but I can't find the datasheet, is it from the AOZ1034 series...

                                  same here does not find Datasheet. shall i lift or take away one by one those capacitor to find the short ?

                                    Well, if you are good at using a soldering station, you can try, first, under a strong magnifying glass, inspect these capacitors for cracks, small burnouts on them, if you find any, then this will be the culprit, if you don't see anything, then first remove the choke, this will determine whether the converter or the capacitors are short-circuiting....

                                      What is The choke? They look to be ok have already lifted the first closest socket 201 but nothing is happening still short. then i measured the chipset Z1043P1 and on the first pin the 1.84V + nearest SOC just to the left there are two small capacitor they are also shorted . but on the SOC itself in the first pin at the edges there is power at 2.584V

                                        You don't know what a choke is? It says "2R2" (a coil wound on a ferrite core)!
