    Voltage Regulator AMC1117 Source

I'm trying to look for some replacements for the voltage regulators commonly failed on those vizio main boards labeled AMC1117.

searching up amc1117 on digikey turns up nothing but "1117" gives out a ton of them. Are these substitutable or do I have to match it exactly "amc1117"?

You can generally use any, however does it JUST say AMC1117 - any other numbers at all. You have to decide if it is fixed 3.3v 5v 1.8v and so on
or if it is adjustable, in which case it will have small resistors to adjust the value on the board.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

      Re: Voltage Regulator AMC1117 Source

      Hi,

The adjustable 1117 regulator that I have used in several Vizio sets was purchased from Digikey. Their part number is 497-1229-1-ND
Keep in mind that there are variations of the part. There are fixed output versions as was just mentioned and have a suffix in the part number like "25" or "18" that define a 2.5 volt or 1.8 volt output.
The part number 497-1229-1-ND is for the adjustable version.
I would suggest you look at the link that Digikey provides for the data sheet for the above part. When you use the adjustable version of the regulator there are two resistors that determine the voltage output.

      Mike

If they have just 1117 printed on top with out the -18, -25, -33 printing after the 1117, then they are adjustable. Adjustable will need to have two resistors network on the ADJ pin to set the output Voltage.
