Advice on rewiring this stepup transformer?
I bought this Chinese made step up transformer to run some 220v appliances. Some of the wires were brittle and broke off. I attempted to improve some of the wiring with spade terminals and heatshrink tubing as the wires were just soldered straight to the connectors. Any advice on how to rewire the broken wires on this step up transformer? I'm unsure how to go about rewiring this to a better safe working condition.6 Photos

Thanks for the help everyone. An update on this, Ive replaced the capacitor with one of these panasonic 100 µF 50 V and the scale didnt turn on. 😐Ill be ordering the ic and testing that out next. How much do you charge? Im not forcing you to help out or to reply to my post, why derail my post?. Ive changed the resistor to the same specs of 47ohm 2w and the resistor still blows. The video i linked showed using a 56ohm resistor instead to help with any extra resistance from any wear on the device but I wanted to know what the people of this forum would suggest instead before buying what i need from digikey....

What resistor ohm will work better to repair this waterpik?
The resistor on this waterpik blew. I changed it with the a similar spec 47ohm 2 watt yageo resistor but it still keeps blowing the resistor. Checking with the multimeter the motor, capacitor, diodes, and thermal fuse all checked normal. Will a higher ohm resistor work better? What ohm resistor will work better to repair this waterpik? This video is showing the repair with a 56 ohm resistor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J7_rV7ui1Yhttps://The resistor on this waterpi... Checking with3 Photos

cool thanks. ill get the 100µf 40 v 105° from digikey. Can you tell me why you recommend a 100µf 50 v 105° instead of a 100µf 40v capacitor? For the ic how did you come with the LT1172cs8 model? It does have the same dimensions as the one on my board. What does the 940 numbers mean on this ic? if the smd components further down the pcb board from the blown capacitor have continuity starting from the power input to those components does that mean they are not shorted or blown including this ic?...

Where can I get compatible capacitor for replacement?
Blew the capacitor on my analytical balance scale using the wrong power adapter. I need help finding a replacement compatible capacitor to buy. Will any 100uf 40v capacitor work as a replacement?3 Photos

Help identifying voltage regulator on this concept 2 pm5 monitor pcb board?
This Concept 2 rower pm5 monitor doesn't shut down. It keeps turning on and stays on after being turned off. I read on another forum by another user that replaced the same component to check the voltage regulator.
The monitor should pull around 35mA when turned on and in shutdown it should drops to around 0.060mA. Any advice on finding the voltage regulator on this board to check if it needs to be replaced?
