Re: Samsung ln40a530p1fxza (white screen)
I would mostly say probably you got a bad tcon from them.

If it came back and went away on its own, I would recheck your soldering and see if theres any lose connections. Reflowing would be a good idea also.

Re: Samsung LN46D630M3F ver. SQ01
Just got this same set the other day with the same problem, backlights going off. Checked all the voltages and signals going to main and inverter and they all remained the same even when the backlights went off. Concluded it was either a bad lamp or the inverter. Just swapped out the inverter and the TV now remains lit and seems the problem is fixed. Just for reference.

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
I usually use an exacto knife but being careful not to put too much pressure as not to cut the traces underneath. But that's only if I know it's definitely bad. Sometimes I end up wanting to put it back for some reason. I usually put a blob of solder of both ends and heat both ends with my iron until it finally loosens off

Not much parts left for now. Probably need to order more. Might be hard to fix these since I don't have the panel anymore

Yep, and thanks for all the help! Maybe I should start fixing these three 5081 boards I have laying around.

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
Got into the service menu. I went into serv tool and held the return, the tv just resets and brings me back up to the main service menu.
looks like this set only had 5700 hours on it.Last edited by Glitcher; 04-13-2015, 05:18 AM.

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
I had a feeling about the spare that I salvaged from another board and I remember you said that your ic563 survived so I assumed mine could of also and I replaced it back to the original.
How do you get into serv tool?

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
Progress!!! I decided to put back the original IC563 and finally it stays on! So it seems it does run without the Q604 FET.
Now I just need to make sure there are no problems with the buffers before I put them back on.Last edited by Glitcher; 04-12-2015, 09:59 AM.

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
diode mode red lead on 5, then probe 6 & 7 with blk = 0.577, 0.574
red on #1 blk on 2 = 1.482, reverse 1.983
red on #3 blk on #4 0.830 reverse 1.454

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
I'm getting pretty much the same values.
end farest from ic521, 1.787,0.629, nearest 0.612, OL
q531 farest from ic501 charges to 1.793, 0.45 and keeps rising (finally stopped at 0.625)
nearest goes OL, 0.626Last edited by Glitcher; 04-12-2015, 09:05 AM.

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
Yep R869 has continuity to the gate of Q604. Also measuring from the top of R613 and Q604 G gives me around 42k ohms.
D618 I basically soldered it upright with the wire connected to the top of the diode (white band) and other end of wire to the end of R611.
R521, and R522 are marked 1000, measuring 100 ohms both.
D652 measures 0.482, OL
Rechecked and resoldered some of the ICs, a trace came off from IC521, but looking on the datasheet it seems to be NC so I don't think it should be...Last edited by Glitcher; 04-12-2015, 08:48 AM.

Here you go, and yes R451 and R441 measure 5.6 ohms...

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
Yep I'm stumped... The only thing I noticed is the MID voltage is too low, peaking at around 45V. So I guess there has to be a problem with the FET and drivers? (IC521 I guess) Replaced some extra parts, and even some from your image but still no process... ugh I hate these boards -.-

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
Might just be my meter, I've always had trouble measuring resistances of anything in the 200K or Meg range. Never actually had to.

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
It'll rise unstably up to about 45V at most and then drop at shutdown. This is across those blue poly caps in parallel I assumeLast edited by Glitcher; 04-11-2015, 03:48 PM.

Re: TH-P50G15A - 6 Blinks- Bad TNPA4782
I'm getting something like 169K on both those ICs pins 10-20. The thing is I plugged on the SC board with Sc50 shorted. It'll sound like the SC turns on for a second (starts buzzing) and then goes off and then it'll start blinking 6 times.Last edited by Glitcher; 04-11-2015, 03:36 PM.
