hi all new to the forum, please tell me if i break any forum rules
. i have a technika lcd40-270 that turns on and off on its own for like 20 minutes until it eventually powers on and works perfectly until i turn it off, i purchased a used pcb off of ebay, which the tv just turns on and off but never turns on with the ebay bought pcb, the seller assures me it works, but i have read how terrible these board's are and in my mind if my pcb turns the tv on after 20 minutes and the ebay bought one doesnt turn on at all, the one he sent is faulty too, does this sound like a faulty pcb or could it be the main board? thanks in advance for any info/help

Re: Technika lcd40-270 pcb issues??
does sound like the ebay ones faulty, whats the part/model number from the power board? if you have a multimeter there maybe some tests we can help you do also if possible can you upload a clear picture of the psu so we can see what we are dealing with cheers. -

Re: Technika lcd40-270 pcb issues??
try this with your working psu before you switch it on in the morning try heating the whole power supply up with a hair dryer for about 3 to 4 minutes also aim the air under the heat sinks onto the capactors under them it the tv now starts straight up ok theres a good chance its just a capacitor issue on your old but working psuComment

Re: Technika lcd40-270 pcb issues??
i tried it earlier on both psu's it certainly came on faster but still took time on mine, but it made no difference to the ebay one, but ill give it a go tomorrow because i didnt hold the heat on for aslong as that, cheersComment

Re: Technika lcd40-270 pcb issues??
To me that indicates a bad PSU... You could prob fix the original yourself. My guess - cold solder or bad startup capPlease do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Technika lcd40-270 pcb issues??
no the start up cap is usually a very little one in size when the lights good try to take a good clear picture and we will point it out but also try the hairdryer trick too as some times if a cap is bad heating it up will get the set working for fault finding purposes.Last edited by vinceroger69; 07-08-2014, 01:29 PM.Comment

Re: Technika lcd40-270 pcb issues??
Are they the only two small caps on the primary (HOT, AC) side of the power supply? Any other small ones in that region? Note, primary marked by the black boundary. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Technika lcd40-270 pcb issues??
It's probably best to replace all of them. You can bend the capacitor over to read the values, or desolder them. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by zlr8rhey guys, hoping for some pointers to repair an eBay bought "faulty" laptop.
Ill try and give as much info as I can.
Dell Inspiron 17 (7786) Laptop
Service Tag: 5J0NHT2
Bios: 1.9.0
When I received this , it would only flicker on the KB backlight for a second, then off and on.
Then it started getting weirder!
Sometimes when attaching the AC power supply, and pressing various pre-boot diagnostic keyboard keys... it did try to boot, in fact out of a hundred attempts, the laptop did actually boot into the Bios ! but never has... -
by StephenMacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to repair my old Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54-55T5). I've already bought a new laptop, so this is more of a learning project. For the experience, with no high expectations of success.
Well, my decice specs are the following:
Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-55T5
CPU: Intel Core i5-11400H
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Motherboard: GH51G LA-L181P Rev:1c
The symptom:
When pressing the power button, the power LED lights up for about 5 seconds and then turns off. Initially, the issue was intermittent: sometimes...05-26-2025, 10:49 AM -
by wwwI am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.
I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....-
