Re: lg 46LD550
i've done a bit of research but all i can find is check the caps, all the caps seem to be fine to me. is there anything else i should try to do? what would cause the led light to be on but not the picture or sound to come on -
Re: lg 46LD550
I am not sure if this power supply inverter board combo has built-in pull up resistors on the PS_ON and bl_on PIN or not, so for quick test, unplug the TV from the outlet and then disconnect the cable between the power supply board and the main board, then plug the TV into the outlet to see if the backlights will come on.Never stop learning

"i disconnnected the cable from the two boards and the red LED light would not come on after i plugged it in to the wall again." that is normal because we remove the power feeding the main board you removed the cable. So the backlights did not come on then?
Next we will need to test the voltages.Never stop learning

On that white connector p201, you need to check the DC Voltage on the 'POWER' pin, use the metal chassis as the ground ref point for the meter, you should see the voltage on the 'POWER' pin toggle betweedn < 1V and > 2VDC when the power switch is toggle on and off.Never stop learning

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by ItepKHello everyone! I've found this television, and I began troubleshooting it.
First, the television kept rapidly power cycling. I've warmed up the capacitors with a hairdryer, and after 3 dimmed red blinks, the backlight turned on, then turned dim, and no picture was present on the screen.
I believed that this was caused by a bad power supply producing insufficent power (I've measured 3.5v on the 5.2v rail), so I've blindly recapped the board.
After the recapping, all the voltages stableized, however, the issue in the title still remains.
I could... -
by burbutsalosHello ,
The issue with this set is that it turn on just fine and after a minute or so the picture shows either vertical lines or turns half black and from that point on starts a boot loop.
If a let the unit to cool down for a minute the same pattern starts again. i had exactly the same mainboard as a spare and replaced it but nothing changed.
Any ideas what to check?... -
by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered... - Loading...
