Samsung LA40A550P1FXXY Backlight Working but no Picture

This one was working fine after a PS capacitor fix until now, it is booting up OK but no picture on screen. Sound is good and so is the backlight. Where should I be looking next?

Oh and I know the pictures show the TCon unplugged but this is not the fault

I'm betting T-con. I actually just replaced that exact T-con in a similar 40" Samsung with the same issue. Turned on, had sound, inputs and backlight worked, but no picture whatsoever.

(Oh, and this was the 2nd of these that I've done with the same problem on that T-con)

Get your DMM out and check the fuse on Tcon board, see if it shows open.

Wow talk about a long time between drinks. I ordered a new Tcon and replaced it, Same result. I tested the fuse on both old and new Tcons and found them both open. I dont know if the one on the new board was good before i installed it though.

How hard is it to find and fit a replacement fuse?

It can be that you have shorted components on the panel that cause the new T-CON board to low the fuse.

I wouldn't be surprised if you received a faulty t-con for the replacement either. I've had plenty myself.
