The caps look good... The tv shuts off if I press any of the buttons located on top of the tv. If I use remote it will not turn off. Any ideas? Thanks

Disconnect the cable that goes to the push button assembly and see if the remote can control all the functionsLast edited by budm; 05-16-2014, 07:01 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Sharp LC-37SB24U 32 - Powers Off if Control Buttons Are Pressed on TV
I didn't word it correctly. I meant that when using the remote it works great. It's just when pressing any of the buttons on the tv is where it turns off. I saw Shop Jimmy has new keyboard controllers for $9.33
The tv owner also mentioned that on some channels... usually the lower ones.. will not have volume.
Thanks for the repliesComment

Are you not talking about the switch assembly on the top RIGHT of the TV?

You may be able to dis-assemble and clean the contacts.Last edited by budm; 05-16-2014, 07:44 PM.Never stop learning

I have a Sharp LC-40LE431U TV. The symptoms are when plugged in, the control buttons on the right side panel don't seem to want to work correctly. I get a solid red light. But when I press the Power button, it does not power on immediately. I have to keep pressing ALL the side buttons randomly until finally the solid green light is on. Then when pressing each additional button, they do not always respond correctly, if at all. Pressing the Volume button might bring up the Menu, or vise versa. Even if I can get the Menu screen to come up and scroll through the selections, I still cannot select any...

by YanlebHi all, I just want to share the repair of my 60PK550-UA TV set.
The TV set was powering on, just no image. After verification, nothing wrong on the YSus or ZSus boards. Nothing wrong on the main board either.
But I noticed that the LED was not flashing on the Logic Control Board. This is an EBR63450301. The LED is supposed to flash even with all the flat cables disconnected, with only the power cable attached.
All the voltages measured at the electrolytic capacitors on the board were good. From top left to bottom right:

by YellowJacketHi friends,
TV has stuck at - as I googled the term - color test mode. Slowly flashing colors white, red, green, blue, black, over and over again. I tried some hints from internet, like pressing some remote buttons, but nothing worked. I also tried factory reset for Sharp TVs => "while holding vol– & input buttons on tv plug in set when “k” appears push vol– & chan- " , but TV doesn't even start during buttons pressed.
So I decided to flash new firmware to SPI ROM. What do you say, would it help? If so, where can I find some dump? I was unable to find... -
