  • Philips 32PFL9604H/12 mainboard likely

As soon as plugged in at power socket TV starts up with Philips opening logo, screen then shows HDMI 4, then both picture and backlight go off but TV remains on and if any button on remote is pressed red led blinks fast. If mains plug is removed and plugged back in the same thing happens. Suspect it might be software on main board related issue. If anybody has the software for this model would be grateful. Have corrected many LG mainboards by reflowing at 200c in the oven does anybody know whether Philips mainboards are so oven friendly!

  • Re: LG 50PJ550 clicking/not staying on

It is a common problem with this power supply. There are many components which may fail or go faulty that can cause this issue. However its easy to test this power supply because with all connectors removed accept the power connector it should start up with all voltages being present so a good power board with just the power connector connected should when powered up click once with all voltages present. Obviously if tested this way and power supply clicks on closely followed by a futher click which is the power supply switching back off a...

  • Re: Samsung ue46f5000 standby light flashing

    Many thanks for your replies.
Nothing to do with backlight. PSU number bn44-00610A.
The fault was caused by a faulty PFC chip SPC7011F. Didnt have one but managed to find one on a scrap board and when fitted fault cleared and working fine again. I belief the original starter of this thread most probably had the same issue but never posted back if it was ever repaired.
So if any members in the future with similar issues with this PSU refer to this link hopefully this info will be of help to them.

  • Re: Samsung ue46f5000 standby light flashing

    Thanks for your reply.
No I know its not a blink code just an indication of an error because of either a fault on power board or main board.
Not all Samsung when you remove connector to main board from PSU provide power to backlight. Its diagnostically an excellent way to check the PSU.
Are you sure that with this model that will work?
Incidentally I know for sure the backlights for this model are not the issue.

  • Re: Samsung PS42A456, no initialise no pic Vs, Va OK, --repaired.

Just Like to say thanks to Alastair E for this post.
Had the same problem same TV same board.
Set has sound but no picture, Vs and Va correct, no fuses failed, no IGBT's etc short.
Fooled me for a while then I read your post and found D5014 at edge of transformer was indeed short. Thats all that was wrong and once replaced like your set working fine again.
So thanks for you posting this post when we were 5 years younger saved me a lot of time!

  • Panasonic TH-37PE30 2blink error

Early made in Japan Plasma. Service manual states error blink 2 for this model is Driver 1.
Checked for shorts on SC and attached upper and lower buffer boards as well as SS board but no shorts found.
Beginning to wish I hadnt taken this one on it appears that a number of years ago someone else had posted a 2 blink error problem with the 42inch version of this set which ended nonresolved.
    Any ideas???

  • Re: Samsung PS51F4500

I can confirm that when fed video from set top box to HDMI port audio is as present as always but loud vibrating crackle noise is coming from the front of the screen. Its difficult to pinpoint in which area the noise is coming from. It does indeed alter in intensity and pitch in relation to video levels of input.
I guess this confirms Panel failure and thanks once again RJ for your reply and suggestions.

  • Re: Samsung PS51F4500

Many thanks RJ. Your thoughts and comments very much appreciated.
Using EMR Diagnostika meter it clearly indicates normal energising of Ysus and Xsus section of power board. The ribbon connectors from both Ysus and xsus are also energised to panel. Despite all this the screen shows absolutely no illumination or activity whatsoever so looking increasingly like loss of gas from pin hole chip has occurred.
Over the weekend I will connect a working video feed as youve suggested and feedback the results here.

    started a topic Samsung PS51F4500

    Samsung PS51F4500

Customer reported sound with no picture.
Suspected from description of fault Ysus display board at fault.
With this model buffer chips built in to Ysus.
    Xsus built into power board.
    Mainboard with built in logik.
Total number of board therefore been kept down to 3.

All voltages test as correct on panel sticker but absolutely no picture or brightness from the screen or flash of screen when first switched on.
There is a sound however coming from behind the screen i can liken it to the noise some CRT tvs would produce when displaying a high...

  • Re: LG 52LG5010 ac detect sorted but still problematic

Just like to point out that I have today repaired an LG power board with AC detect fault again by bridging pins 3 and 4 of optocouplers ic101 and ic102.
Power supply used on LG 50PG3000
    EAX38865401/7 EAY39190301.

Fault was not continual clicking but switch on and straight off to standby with red standby illumination tuning to blue and returning to red after a few seconds.
Adding this information in case it helps referring to this thread in the future.

  • Re: LG 50PK350 Stuck in Standby not clicking

Managed to repair it. It was a faulty Controller chip IC701. Desoldered chip from a scrap board to replace chip. When tested worked straight away.
I can confirm that with mainboard connector disconnected from PSU (EAY60968801) all voltages present.
Worth noting for the future if ever a stuck in standby situation with this model and no clicking and with main board disconnected only 5volt active from psu.
Controller chip IC 701 should be suspected.

  • LG 50PK350 Stuck in Standby not clicking

Unusual because whilst it is stuck in standby not the usual clicking you normally have with this model. Red standby illumination with no response from remote or manual controls. if power turned off after around 7 seconds 1 single relay click. Power board is EAY60968801 which I believe is almost identical to the PSU used in LG 50PJ350 ( EAY60968701). The only difference is the EAY60968801 has the extra connector for the Xsus board whereas EAY60968701 hasnt because powered from Ysus in 50PJ350.
With the 50PJ350 testing power supply is relatively easy because SMPS turns on automatically when...

  • Re: Samsung PS42A457P1D stuck in standby

Just come across this thread and noticed that the last question remained not answered. Just thought i would end this thread with information that might aid future reference to stuck in standby with this power supply. Had a number like this with standby led showing but with no response. If looking carefully at standby illumination it can be seen to be slightly pulsing and is invariably caused by complete degradation of CB801 (22uf 450volt). Had a number of these lately that have degraded so badly that lost their capacitance completely....
