so I got this tv, when I press power the green light will come on for a second then goes red 8 flashing blinks, nothing else

An 8X blink code is Speaker protection, The speaker connections on the au board are monitored for dc voltage, if this is detected the tv will shut down -

One thing to check is that the speaker wires are not shorted to the metal chassis anywhere, I did have one that the wires were pinched between the plastic and the metal chassis, as soon as the volume was turned up the tv went into shutdowm. If thats not the cause then the AU board is at faultComment

I bought a set with this power supply totally dead, the only problem I can find D907 &D911 seem to be reading short. I recommend checking these for this faultComment

I was asked to look at a Sony KD-55X8509C as it was not powering on, no lights.
On inspection, there was no physical issues.
I seated all cables and repowered the TV, then the LED light flashed Green / Amber.
- this seems to indicate repairing required, done by Firmware update.
so downloaded the latest Firmware from Sony website and wrote to 4Gb USB drive.
Inserted the drive and repowered the TV.
LED changed to white flashing/pulsing ... and it sat there for over an hour.
i was unsure what was happening so repowered the TV and now it just... -

I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.
Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and... -

I was able to solder to the RX, TX and Diag pads on the COK-002 motherboard and was able to get external access and retrieved the codes. Hi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.
I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.

With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.
