Sanyo DP32648 Backlight on/off

Sanyo DP32648 Push power and LED on front turns green then the backlight flashes on then goes out. Visually caps look good and I see no hot spots or anything out of the normal. I checked each inverter on the board with a test bulb and all looked fine so I would say not inverter or bulbs so something making it go into protect mode.But what to check next?

DARFON inverter, so check the transformer secondaries using your multimeter's 20kohm range. With TV unplugged place meter across outer lower two terminals of transformer. Record reading for each.

Any reading substantially different from any other reading indicates a bad transformer, which can be replaced, they are about $15 each on eBay.

I thought testing each transformer with a test bulb would show a bad one??

Not necessarily - if your bulb requires less drive than the panel one it won't show a partially bad transformer.

Well just checked them all and all are about the same.

Possibly a bad bulb in the panel then.

Doubt it since I tried a bulb on every transformer and I got the one with a bad bulb then TV would have stayed lit. Make that 2 size bulbs tested on every one.

My bad tom66, I took another meter (el cheapo) and did find a bad transformer.

CraigR I have the same problem that you had same model which board did you replace the one with the inuts or the tan board in your second picture? Thanks

By chance CraigR do you still have your old board or the transformers from it? I found 1 bad one on mine and was unable to fund it online.

Hey folks, got a question.

I was checking the resisitance of the tranformers on the inverter board and found some variances. My question, is it enough to call a transformer "bad"?

The secondaries varied from
1.078 K to 1.093 K

The primaries varied very little.
0.15 to 0.16 ohms

Thoughts?
