LG 42LH3000-ZA LCD TV Screen Issue

Hi All

I've got a 42" LCD TV model no. 42LH3000 with a screen issue. I've cleaned all the T-Con cable connections but the problem persists. Faulty T-Con board ?

See attached photos of the problem.

Probably panel -- tab bonds.
Doubt t-con would cause this.

the line is overlaying the OSD,so id say tab bond fail too.

gently twisting the frame may confirm it, if it changes ,then tab bonds.

Found other information pointing to the tab bonds being an issue on this model. Don't think I fancy taking on this job. Probably break for spares !

I've done one like this before; it was really easy and is still working 12 months later.

Was given one of these models a month ago with similar problems.
First repaired the tab problem then about a day later encounted the picture going solarised with occasional very bright white screen. A new TCon from ebay china seller fixed that.
Currently awaiting for some AS15 chips to replace on the old TCon.

I attempted the tab bond fix on this model (different symptom) and it only lasted a few days. I never have managed to exactly locate the problem.

At my place of work they bought a bunch of these in late 2009/early 2010 for displaying promo stuff. All eight failed within 2.5 years displaying faults similar to the one pictured above.

Mind you the commercial Samsung displays they replaced them with have been no better lol.

I have a similiar problem. I have a LG 42LH3000-ZA with "negative" image. Do you know if the issue is the t-con board?

Can you check the pics attached and comment?

That looks like the common AS15-F gamma IC fault, easy to replace if you have decent soldering skills.

The AS-15-F is the chip marked with red in the image attached, correct?
Do you know where i can buy an similar chip?

After verify again, the chip that I marked with red color is AS15-HF. It is the same that you mentioned (AS15-F gamma IC fault) ?

Hello everyone!

My uncle owns this model and it started to draw some horizontal lines that shouldn't be there (check the pictures).
What do you think, is it the Tcon board or the panel is defective?

It was the T-con board, I replaced it and everything is fine now.
