    philips 42PFP5532D stuck on standby

Hi I have a philips 42PFP5532D which is stuck on standby and the power LED flashes 1 long flash then 4 short ones, then 1 long and 5 short, then 1 long and 2 short? Does anyone know the problem? Does anyone know any blinking codes for TVs??

What's the chassis code - printed on rear of set for example Q599.3E-LA? Next to normal model number.

Can you provide a picture of the back model number label?

              Yes chassis is LC7.2E-PA.

              So this is a plasma?

Re: philips 42PFP5532D stuck on standby

                  Here's exact manual

                  Error codes page 18.

error code 4: General I2C error
error code 5: Trident video processor error
                  error code 2: +12V low/missing

I'd focus on error code 2. It looks like it could cause the other two errors. Check +12V at PSU.

IS this toms-service-manual your website? Can I just generally browse through it for other TVs?

Well with most likely it being the +12V protection error code is that a fault on the power supply board? Is it a certain component or just a whole board change?

It probably indicates a fault with the 12V out of the power board, but there's also the chance the main board is shorted. Also possible the main board is mis-detecting the fault and there actually isn't one (I've had this before.)

To find exact fault, it's best to check the 12V from the power supply just as the set is turned on. If it's low, then that points to a fault in the first two categories. If not, it's in the latter category.
