Hi all, Received replacement power inverter board and installed it with no change, still no backlight, has sound and amber logo turns white. The remote works and it changes channells just a dark screen. Do I need to check the bulbs? I havn't ever had a screen assy apart so I need some more help if I can get it.

Still no flash on the screen for seconds? Where is this board from?

It came from Shop Jimmy I thought they were top drawer. There is one thing I hadn't seen, there is a blue light under the power board at turn on and then it dims out after about ten or fifteen seconds.

I am not convince yet that all the lamps can be bad due to that the lamps were not even fired up first before the detection circuit kicks in.

I am certainly open to sugestions. Is there anything that can cause this on the main board? What is the simpelist way to build a test bulb assy? Oh, and thanks for your time and help...

Found The Problem... Short to ground in Bulb assembly. See pictures...

Ah I see why we did not see the lamps flash on at all, they are EEFL not CCFL so they are connected in parallel with no ballast caps for each lamp, since the the high voltage is shorted to ground the high voltage never gets to the lamps. Great job taking the panel apart.

The old board works fine. I hope Jimmy will let me return his board. Looks like a 20% restock and shipping. Will still save me a little. If I am able to reassemble this TV I will need to build a bulb testing setup for next time.

Hi budm, I hope you are still with me. I received the new lamp holder and insulator and installed, I have lines on screen but no pix. Has sound and there is movement on the screen but no pix. Will send pix with this. Very dim, I'm sorry but I can get better pictures this evening if you need.

Looks like some thing went out on the panel or the T-CON, something to do with TFT drive IC on the flexible ribbon between the glass panel and the long circuit board where the tab bonding are. Did you see this problem before the backlights quit working?

I think this is most likely a bad panel especially if that middle black bar never moves.

I did not see any pix before I got the backlights on and then I had this. There are two or three panels between the bulbs and the screen. I could have those reversed in order. Those ribbon cables could have touched the chassis while I was working on the bulb holders.

The back lights failed again and I have turned it into a parts set. Thanks to all that assisted me in the attempt to repair it...Geraposi
