Re: Phillips CRT 27PT543537A > screen flickers and then shuts off
Unlikely to be economical - I do not know how it is in the US but I regularly see 32 ~ 34" Sony Trinitron 1080i HDTV CRTs (XBR) given away for free - must be a couple every month...
I would, with my little CRT knowledge, suggest high EHT causing xray detect fault (safety engaging.)

Check the elec. capacitor off the horz. drive transformer, its a low value (1-2uf) around 50v. also could be shorted diodes/output transistors in the vert. output circuit.
My wayback machine is't working too good right now.

Sounds like the 2005 RCA CRT that I posted about a while ago.
Heard that it can be a bad solder joint and for the above mentioned CRT TV, it would shut off by itself after roughly 10 seconds, if I try to use it after it was turned off. (Seems that it has to warm up before it even possibly stays on.)
That guy is long gone now! It was kicked out of the house then left in the snow, ice and rain before someone hauled it away.

try R_J advice. also caps near vertical ic that has range same as he said and 50v. it look like your tv gone to protect mode because something wrong. many times just a failed caps about 50v. but who knows yours.. sometime there's another factor too.
