Panel shows two good half pictures when alternatively plugged in but poor/ distorted picture when both sides of panel are plugged in. Is this a panel or drive fault?

Thanks Diah, Now that I know it's the main board I can see if the repair is viable as it looks like its abit old & not smart. A local supplier has one for 1100 zar. Will look see if I can do the firmware downgrade (download & upgrade?) first though.

Hi Diah, Ibe tried the link for Hisense ftp server but keep getting "There were input errors, please try again later. I don't know if this is because I have an old Galaxy A5 phone (I get denied access to various sites saying the my device is not suitable/ old). I went to the official site and tried the support route but also came up blank. Up until recently Hisense factory (assembly plant) in our country had a fair spares supply chain to the public but lately the phones either drop your call or don't answer. A larger repair company in another province/ state have access to the board and at a last attempt will just replace the main board as opposed to downgradin to a an earlier version as you suggested. I thought the bin file might be resident on Badcaps but not really sure on how to find the file. I referenced the panel number but it doesn't come up? So will attempt board replacement. Thanks for all. MikeComment

Thanks Diah, Davi and Vincent. Sorry slow response, eventually got tar file. Funny thing is when I switched the TV on it had a perfect picture...until it started playing up again.
I beginning to think it's a poor connection somewhere? Can software be intermittent? Long story short, I wasnt able to get the TV to digest the tar file, mp pc said the tar file was there, but TV couldn't find it.
I've done a factory reset, will this "repair" the firmware?
The TV is on my workbench and if the fault comes up again I will check the print on the tcon as Davi suggested.Comment

The TV freakishly ran for about 3 hrs last night and I was able to watch utube flawlessly then it flunked out again. I turned t upside down and back and that appeared to work for awhile, then flunks out. All kinds of twisting and contortion from there didn't help. It appear that when I was flipping through the menu that certain images woukd have a different effect on the screen( a few very bars to blank screen) so maybe like you suggest different resolutions would have different effect on the buffer.
I would really like to do the binfile rewrite but the repair is now 2 weeks on my bench. I've requested am order for a new main board and looks like I might just replace the board to satisfy my customer. Will let know final outcome. Thanks, Mike

Oh my god.. not even the ABC of the LCD screens here! The LCD screen outputs always at the same resolution, are the inputs on the main board that can vary and main board SoC scale them with scaler function..!! The fact you vary the good and the bad output simply disconnecting the LCD flats tells you clearly that the fault is in the screen (tcon comprised)..Comment

Hi, Sorry for the discourse created. This particular symptom definitely seems to be a hardware problem as on switch on this morning it played perfectly until I wobbled the TV and the symptom appeared. (Video clip can be supplied) Wether it's the panel or the main board I can't say but I can't take the chance with the expense involved. The TV will be returned unrepaired unfortunately and put down as panel faulty/ uneconomical to repair. Thanks for all the input and hopefully differences can be put aside. Regards, MikeComment

by mecha1166Some new tvs have an LCD screen attached to the outside of the frame with foam tape. These are "edge to edge" as they are called. I am trying to figure out how to reattach an LCD panel back up to the frame. The manufacturer used 3/16 inch foam tape along the top and rh/lh edges. I used a razor blade to separate the panel from the metal frame. The metal frame that the panel is taped to is 1/4 inch wide along the 2 sides and top. I completely removed the residue from the metal frame. There is some residue on the panel itself along the 3 edges, I removed almost all of it using alcohol and...

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!
what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!
i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...-

I had a the above tv qn55q60r that had a bad panel but everything else good. I had another panel here from un55nu6900 with bad leds and melted diffusers.
I put the nu6900 panel in and powered it up and it does work but there are lines vertical lines.
I was trying to change the panel type in the service menu but don’t see my exact panel. Anyway to fix this or someone have similar experience.
the clear picture is the panel type from the service menus on the nu6900. The other 1 is the panel type that was set for the q60r with the bad panel....01-13-2024, 01:57 PM -
I have a TCL 55P6US with sound and backlight but no picture. This model does not have a T-CON board, and the right (rear perspective) panel board is fed from the left panel board. I have not been able to induce any change by disconnecting the secondary panel board or the tape cut-off method on the primary board.
There are a bunch of voltages missing on the panel boards. I can't find any shorted caps of the panel boards, and all of the missing voltage rails read in the kiloohms, which leads me to suspect the issue may lie on the circuit board, rather than a short in the panel.

by KYBOSHI came across a 50inch TU8000 that wouldnt start up properly (blinking stand-by light, backlights would cycle on and off).
When i opened it up and removed the power to the mainboard the backlights powered up and everything looked uniform.
When reconnected the mainboard but disconnected the flex cable to the panel i heard the TV startup with the intro sound.
Later I checked for shorts on the panel PCB boards but could not find anything.
When I took a look with the FLIR i noticed the 2 resistors...08-10-2024, 08:39 AM - Loading...
