Hi Guys, another customer who does pv work says he's had the identical unit with the same problem which he took to the local Mecer agents and they returned the unit unrepaired, not worth repairing.
This unit looks brand new and with Mecer saying that it has reverse polarity protection and the fact that it should be able to handle power interruptions one would think it would have not failed so prematurely? Like a bulldozer with a glass bumper. Doesn't say much for the brand. Thanks, Mike

Hi Davi, sorry slow response, the tcon is incorporated into the main board (all I'm one board). Thanks, I had originally tried everything I could including heating the board up with a hair dryer bit didn't help, thanks for the suggestion. The TV has gone back to the customer already. Thanks, have a great day....

I'm a TV tech and a friend has asked me to look at his Mecer inverter. I haven't connected a battery but plugged it in to the mains and it does run a lamp. The lcd screen is not illuminating. My friend says he mistakenly connected the battery...Last edited by Grunder; 03-21-2024, 09:06 AM.

Hi, Sorry for the discourse created. This particular symptom definitely seems to be a hardware problem as on switch on this morning it played perfectly until I wobbled the TV and the symptom appeared. (Video clip can be supplied) Wether it's the panel or the main board I can't say but I can't take the chance with the expense involved. The TV will be returned unrepaired unfortunately and put down as panel faulty/ uneconomical to repair. Thanks for all the input and hopefully differences can be put aside. Regards, Mike

Thanks Diah, I will try to extract bin from tar. Have been using my phone to work with and need to get my pc online to do this properly.
The TV freakishly ran for about 3 hrs last night and I was able to watch utube flawlessly then it flunked out again. I turned t upside down and back and that appeared to work for awhile, then flunks out. All kinds of twisting and contortion from there didn't help. It appear that when I was flipping through the menu that certain images woukd have a different effect on the screen( a few very bars to blank screen) so maybe like you suggest different...

Thanks Diah, Davi and Vincent. Sorry slow response, eventually got tar file. Funny thing is when I switched the TV on it had a perfect picture...until it started playing up again.
I beginning to think it's a poor connection somewhere? Can software be intermittent? Long story short, I wasnt able to get the TV to digest the tar file, mp pc said the tar file was there, but TV couldn't find it.
I've done a factory reset, will this "repair" the firmware?
The TV is on my workbench and if the fault comes up again I will check the print on the tcon as...

Hi Diah, Ibe tried the link for Hisense ftp server but keep getting "There were input errors, please try again later. I don't know if this is because I have an old Galaxy A5 phone (I get denied access to various sites saying the my device is not suitable/ old). I went to the official site and tried the support route but also came up blank. Up until recently Hisense factory (assembly plant) in our country had a fair spares supply chain to the public but lately the phones either drop your call or don't answer. A larger repair company in another province/ state have access to the board and...

Thanks Diah, Now that I know it's the main board I can see if the repair is viable as it looks like its abit old & not smart. A local supplier has one for 1100 zar. Will look see if I can do the firmware downgrade (download & upgrade?) first though.
edit: sorry it is smart so might be worth it. Tx...

Hisense HE43A6100UTWS Panel problems
Panel shows two good half pictures when alternatively plugged in but poor/ distorted picture when both sides of panel are plugged in. Is this a panel or drive fault?...

Just to add on, it's not only the NU series, I've repaired about 4 samsung TV's replacing the edgelit backlight. Not a good arrangement you always have to file and sandpaper the distorted refractor which has melted due to the heat given off by the leds. One repair returned after two months with panel failure which I put down to the heat generated by the failing/ overheating leds

Hi, after reading various posts on the NU series of the Samsung I see its not a good design, the edgelit arrangement overheats and destroys the refractor and back reflector, that coupled with the 2 blinks and reboot problem has made me decide to return this TV as NWR not worth repair. It will cost half the price of the TV to replace the Main board, about a quarter of the price to replace the Backlight which with the TV at 6 years old will most probably fail shortly. Thanks, Mike...

Samsung UA55NU7100 2 blinks then reboots
Hi please some assistance with my Samsung UA55NU7100 that is stuck in reboot.
I've read the post by Itelite on a Samsung UA65NU6900 with the same problem but this main board is different and doesn't have the 25v VGH voltage which was the problem that he had.
There is no legend indicating voltages on the socket/ cable going to the main board just a link marked 11.80 volts. This voltage reads 12.71v. Pins 3 to 9 also 12.71v. Pins 2,6,8,10,11 & 12 all 0.0v. Pin 1 fluctuates 3.01 to 0.0 volts and pin 4 fluctuates 3.25 to 0.0 volts.
The cpu gets very hot after 10...Last edited by Grunder; 01-26-2024, 08:04 AM.
