Sorry to labour this but Tom did you mean the one just above the BIG cap.
It looks odd to me - the cover looks wrong and tipped so could be pushing the bottom?
Its also a 50v so could be the startup cap which might cause this?Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

the back light has just got to the point where it stays on and the voltages have changed
the 12.05 v are now a steady 12.7Comment

its only ok when the back light is on, when its trying to power up - ie led blinking the votages are low
in fact its got worse - they are now 0.07Comment

that was it in standby ( led constant )
when i tried turn on it went back to flashing 5 times then back light on for a sec and round and round
voltage back to 12.0 when trying to start - 12.7 when backligh stays onComment

try giving the main board a bit of heat near the shielded area, had similar before out of these models
might not be that but have had it before and won't do no harm to tryComment

Ok progress
I replaced the cap suggested by selldoor - no change
I then tried resetting the eprom - no change
I then tried the hair dryer on the top left shield as suggested by anotherdude - success the tv now comes on and it works fine
Now i know its the main board problem but how do i permanently fix it as when it cools down again it dosnt come back on ?Comment

cost of a new main board would take make this un-economical also there isnt any, is this some sort of cap or something i can replace ?Comment

Samsung main boards are never easy to fix. Most likely you would be looking at a problem with the soldering under the processor, like in the case of Xbox 360/PS3. it is soldered on, i've had success with a oven bake previoulsy on a 40 model, some flux under the shielded area with the shield removed and then cover the plastics and anything else you don't want to bake in foil, make 4 foil balls and rest the board on it then put it in the oven at say gas mark 4 for 10-15 minutes at most
not a great idea but only worth it if you have no other option or don't want to pay out for the board
these bordeaux models seem plagued with this, just to add further i've tried before with a heatgun and never worked permantly whereas the oven method has worked for me, plus a heatgun is giving uneven heat depending on how long you focus on the spot for flexing etc may occur whereas the oven is a steady heatLast edited by anotherdude; 01-23-2014, 04:54 AM.Comment

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.
Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today.... -
When the Main board is disconnected, the back lights are off but tapping on the chassis makes them light up and all voltages are then good. Connecting the main board up makes the TV work normally until moved. LED INERFACE STRIP BN41-01971A has a short on the first 2 pins on the left of the picture, the cable tests good. All the other pins and all LED strips test good. Is there an easy way to fix the short or do I need a new interface. Any help would welcome.

Hi techs, I have a Samsung ua39eh5003r which switches on and then goes to standby. I have to wait for a day or two for the tv to switch on again, all the time it is stuck on standby. I have checked the voltages on the power supply board on both occasions when it is on and off and these are my findings:

Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...
