Re: Samsung LE32M87BD - stuck in standby - blinking LED
yeah removed shield
then covered all board apart from where the shield sits
applied flux allowing some to run behind the chips
then was in over ( pre heated ) for 15 min
strange this was tho i put it back in while it was still very warm - but it didnt come on it did the same thing
i have now put shield back on and tried again still the same cycle
now the hair dryer took longer but it seemed to come on again when i pointed it lower ( just below the shield )Comment

Maybe it's not the processor - where are you pointing heat at?Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung LE32M87BD - stuck in standby - blinking LED
Yes, they are electrolytics and can fail in the same way as regular electrolytics on a power board (nothing different about them except the case.)Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung LE32M87BD - stuck in standby - blinking LED
there are multiple caps surrounding it, If you remember i asked you about smd caps a while ago that i didn't know what the part numbers ment.
could it be those caps?Comment

i've had one previously too that couldn't be repaired, still sitting in my cupboard, probably a new board is neededComment

Re: Samsung LE32M87BD - stuck in standby - blinking LED
when i get it going it then stays on and the heat shield gets very hot as the processor is running
but if i turn it off i cant get it back on again so something is cooling down - ( but the processor makes its own heat and in fact gets hotter )
it just went off again and i tried heating towards the bottom right just to the left of the turner and it seemed to come on quickerComment

Re: Samsung LE32M87BD - stuck in standby - blinking LED
yeah in that general area - nothing to lose baking again but this time let more of the board get the heat, i dont think the prob is under the shield has something to do around the shield as they are the bits that cool down again.
If i found a board for £15 i would get it but iv seen that some have gone for like £50 and thats way too muchComment

Re: Samsung LE32M87BD - stuck in standby - blinking LED
went off again and tried heating the caps near the power connector - no change
then when i heated the caps around the turner it came on so im slowly narrowing it down
so tom66 the electrolytics can be replaced ? can i just get them from maplin ?Comment

Re: Samsung LE32M87BD - stuck in standby - blinking LED
You can buy those capacitors from CPC with free next-day delivery on ANY order... Maplin caps are terrible!! Take a pic or highlight each suspect cap. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung LE32M87BD - stuck in standby - blinking LED
Try narrowing heat down to just those 1000uF 10V caps - check voltage across them while working and while faulty. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

tom with these type of caps can they be replaced with ordinary leaded ones room permitting.Comment

Re: Samsung LE32M87BD - stuck in standby - blinking LED
You may want to check the back of the board as well.Comment

Re: Samsung LE32M87BD - stuck in standby - blinking LED
ok re bake still the same not much i can do apart from change a few caps only a few £ gamble so going to give that a try
my question is some read 100 16J - so i take it they are 100uf and 16v
but others says 100 16F so are they the same just a different size ?Comment

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.
Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today.... -
by UkdiggerWhen the Main board is disconnected, the back lights are off but tapping on the chassis makes them light up and all voltages are then good. Connecting the main board up makes the TV work normally until moved. LED INERFACE STRIP BN41-01971A has a short on the first 2 pins on the left of the picture, the cable tests good. All the other pins and all LED strips test good. Is there an easy way to fix the short or do I need a new interface. Any help would welcome.

by rjuA sports bar/restaurant with ~40 Samsung Plasma TVs. This is the 2nd TV that has a blinking standby LED. I'd like to learn how to repair these TVs because I'd guess that over time more and more of them will develop this symptom. My hope is to repair the bad PCB, however if that's not realistic then I'd replace the bad PCB.

by RusengaHi techs, I have a Samsung ua39eh5003r which switches on and then goes to standby. I have to wait for a day or two for the tv to switch on again, all the time it is stuck on standby. I have checked the voltages on the power supply board on both occasions when it is on and off and these are my findings:
Connector CNM803:
