Panasonic Plasma TC-P42S30 Not Turning On

My Panasonic Plasma TV is not turning on.

    The Model Number:
    TC-P42S30

    Symptoms:

    Not turning on

Constant clicking sounds when the TV is plugged in. (The sound of a TV turning on and off again) About 15 second delay between the clicks

When i try to reset the TV by holding down the power button for 10 seconds and then let go and press the power button one more time the red led light turns on but it doesnt blink. It just stays on. Also when i do this the lights on the board of the TV turn on too but only for about 5 seconds they dont stay on.

I checked for blown capacitors and didnt see any

I used a multimeter and checked the power coming in and it was 120 volts which seems normal but idk.

First some preliminary checks. On the far right and left side are sustain boards. Unplug both from power supply. Plug in the tv and power up. Still clicking? Look for a solid red light on the front of the tv.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Remove ac power then rear cover. Visually inspect to loose cables, blown caps or other parts. Then apply ac power using a DVM measure the PS voltages. There will be a sticker on rear of pannel with voltage levels Va and Vs. should be close to what is labeled. If not then; Remove power then disconnect cable from PS to the SC board (big board on left side of set as looking at it from the rear) apply power and recheck voltages? Does it still click? If same then repeat proceedure for the SS board (big board on right of set as looking at it from the rear). This is the basic starting point.

I did this, i still have the clicking sound of the tv turning on and off.

Also i was checking the fuses on my power supply board and one of the fuses on the bottom is not giving a reading while all the others are. It like a cylinder its white with a pink stripe at the middle. Is this normal or is there a problem?

are you checking the fuse for voltage each side or testing it with the set of on ohms setting on multi meter across the fuse.

Its on v~ on the multimeter i put one of the pin on a ground screw and one on the side of the fuse

im sure tom will be along with advice on test that fuse may only get power when the relay stays energised.

Would try checking fuse on ohms instead - testing voltage at fuse points can give unreliable results.

                      * Unplug power board & all power to set.
                      * Leave for 5 minutes to discharge X-caps.
                      * Check on the 200 ohm range of your multimeter ACROSS the fuse, you should get a reading around 0.0 to 3.0 ohms. Note a single "1" without a zero digit indicates the fuse is blown.

Okay i did this and i got 0.01 on the fuse. So i guess its working and the problem is else where?

OK, on the brown and white connector loom, bottom right, there's some labels next to the connector, can you list these or get a picture of them? (the larger ~12 pin one and the 4 pin one.)

So, what voltages do you measure on pins STBY5V and STBY5V-ON?

                                  To measure:
                                  - TV is plugged in and switch turned on, any main on/off switch which would enable the standby light normally is to engaged (like a main power switch somewhere...)
                                  - Multimeter set to 20V DC.
                                  - Black probe of multimeter on the metal chassis, a convenient place is a screw hole point for the wall mount, as long as it is connected to the back metal plate that everything is mounted to.
                                  - Red probe touching the metal sheath around where wire meets pin for each pin indicated.
                                  - Note reading after 3 seconds and report results.

Check your meter is set to volts DC, not volts AC. If the reading is still 10V, exchange your meter's battery for a fresh one.

Sound and screen work while it is on.

I attempted to troubleshoot the power cable by unplugging it and pressing the power button for 10-30 seconds before trying to turn it on again. However, the problem persists.

I removed the back cover and tried replacing the power board, but the problem did not get fixed. Although, for a brief moment, it seemed like the issue was resolved as the TV stayed on for 5 minutes before reverting to turning off after 15-30 seconds.

I attempted to replace the T-CON board, but each time I turn the TV on with a new T-Con board,...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                                          by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

Panasonic P42S30 Plasma - Pink sparkles
                                          by Lintesir
My parents' Panasonic P42S30 died recently, and they asked me to have a look at it. I was able to identify the SN-board as the culprit, as it was shorted. After removing Q401, Q402, Q421 and Q422 the short was gone, so I replaced these components and that got the TV working again. However, when testing the tv a bit, I noticed quite bad pinkish sparkles on some colors. For instance the greyish bar on this forum seems to trigger it quite badly. I made a fullscreen test picture with only that color, with the below result.

There is about a 5cm high region at the top without any sparkles,...

Dead Panasonic Viera TX-P65STW50 Plasma TV

Hello, got a ST50 plasma TV for repair. No signs of life, not even blink codes. Opened it up to check the power supply, type MPF6914. Apparent issues from visual detection and measuring for shorts:
                                          Diode type G972s6 - D101 with a short
                                          Mosfet 06N90E - Q301 shorted
                                          Fuse T5AH 250V - F103 blown
                                          Diode D301 shorted
                                          Relay DG1U-17VDC II - RL001 blown

I have not found a circuit diagram. Maybe someone here already dealt with a similar issue? Thanks for tips where else to check 😀...
