That is the Thermistor (can be Positve or Negative type) for temperature sensing, OTP= Over Temperature Protection. It looks like Negative type (NTC).
What is the power supply not doing?

The transformer that it is under will not power up.

I just checked the thermistor By warming it up with my solder iron and the resistance goes up . It is a negative type heat will increase resistance. A PTC is positive and the resistance goes down when heat is applied. Thank You BUDM for telling me what it was.

Negative type, resistance goes down as the the temperature goes up, opposite reaction for PTC.
Do you get about 380~400VDC at the two legs of the main 450VDC filter cap when PS_ON is applied to the power supply board? Board numbers?

I will have to solder a couple wires under the board to find out.The cap is in a heat sink cage.

For the 12v/24v switched power supply to work, it will need PS_ON, PFC Voltage booster circuit to work to supply 380~400VDC for the power MOSFETs that drive the 12V/24V transformer to run on.

Its getting late here I will report back tomorrow. The set I am working on has all volts good but no 24 volt from the big transformer. I changed all the radial caps but not the big one. And I changed all the regulators on the inverters, and main board. All fuses good pson is good and back light control voltage is good, and the panel is good too.Need sleep now I don't need to fry myself working on this piece of crap. Thanks BUDM good night

OK, that is good, so we need to concentrate on the 12V/24V drive circuit next. We will have to trace out the connections on the board. Do you have P/N of this board, we will need good clear pictures of both sides of the board, they must be good enough to clearly see the traces.

The correct PS name is DPS-433BP , but unfortunatley I was unable to find a schematic for it!
In a transistor circuit protected by a fuse, the transistor will always blow to protect the fuse.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Vizio SmartCast TV software bug that looks like hardware
                                          by howardc64
Bug looks like hardware so thought I posted it here. Exact same behavior on 2 different model 4K Vizio TVs running their SmartCast smarttv software. After launching youtube app, press vizio button on remote to return to the smarttv menu, once in awhile, a column of bad pixels will show for few seconds on the left hand side.

It seems the vizio software is reinitializing hardware when returning to the smarttv menu. In general, SmartCast software isn't very good. Also will randomly (relatively infrequent) get no network connection when on wifi and require reboot....

Vizio VO47L FDHTV30A Picture but no speaker audio, clicking sound
                                          by nbnb
I have a Vizio VO47L FDHTV30A. The picture works well, but the sound only works through the RCA output jacks. The sound does not work through the internal speakers or the headphone jack. The TV has a rapid clicking sound when the tv is on that occurs about 4 times per second. The clicking sound volume is fairly low and is not affected by adjusting the internal speaker volume level. The clicking occurs whether or not I disable the internal speaker through the Vizio setup menu. The clicking only occurs while the TV is on.

Any idea what is causing the clicking sound? Any easy way to...

Vizio e55u-d2 55 inch tv service manual & schematic
                                          by Novabeau 2
Hello everyone, I'm trying to find some service manuals or schematics for a vizio e55u-d2 55 inch tv that just conked out the other night. It has no power whatsoever.

Have tried all the reset process that vizio had.

Any Insight to this would be great and appreciated. If you all think it's not cost prohibited to fix let me know. known thank you and have a wonderful day.
