Re: sanyo dp26640 dead
i have a sanyo dp 26640 that wont power on there is power comming in i am learning as i go have fix 4 other tv but you could see the trouble , with my dmm i have the black lead to chasy ground red lead to power board or control board ground and stil get 10v???
This is what you originally said - if you had mentioned heatsink then the answer is simple. heatsinks often carry a voltage we warn people time and time a gain to be careful not to touch heatsinks when the set is powered
or recently switched off as they can carry a voltage that will give you a nasty jolt.
After all that the pictures are not really clear enough for troubleshooting- the idea is that we can see parts clearly and the part numbers so we can
direct you on what to check..
One of the connectors bottom right and top right will lead to the other
(Main) board - Use a ground screw for black meter lead and with the red
lead test each pin on the connector. You need it all set up and on to do this
DO NOT Touch the heatsinks or any other part of the board.
If you cannot get a probe into the pins with the connector in place insert a sewing needle next to a wire and test to the needle.
EDIT
Looks like the bottom right connector - does it say on either board
what the voltages should be?Last edited by selldoor; 01-09-2014, 04:12 AM.Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: sanyo dp26640 dead
So you do not even have 5V on the power supply connector? List the voltage readings on the power supply connector.
I cannot tell form the pictures, but does it look like this picture?

Re: sanyo dp26640 dead
"but power on ground cant find fuse" The main AC fuse (close to where the AC power cord is) is soldered into the board, it is the small black rectangular body with T4AL250V printing on the board next to it.Never stop learning

Re: sanyo dp26640 dead
Not the usual way of checking a fuse but if you have 120vac after the fuse and 170vdc or so at the transformer then the fuse is ok.
There are up to 12 variations of this tv so you need to get the manual that matches your boards.
Getting back to the low voltages what are you using for the ground?
Try again putting black lead on SBND pin and red lead on 5v pin set meter on 20 vDC
You need to have the set all connected and switched onLast edited by selldoor; 01-11-2014, 09:48 AM.Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: sanyo dp26640 dead
No- I meant use the SGND pin for the black lead - but mistyped -sorry.
Just test to a pin marked GND
Doh I dont think your connector is the same - when you didnt answer budm I assumed it was.
Can you do a pic of it so we can see the pin descriptionsLast edited by selldoor; 01-11-2014, 12:18 PM.Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair
