I tried freezing it and the only difference was the box at the bottom started out faded and slowly came into view.

So heating it would not work but freezing might?

Edit: ok I'm going to try freezing it but I'm going to use electronics duster as it allegedly does the same thing when you spray it upside down. It's super cheap and I just seen it at Dollar Tree recently.

Do I need to have the tv powered on while spraying the chip? It do I freeze it then quickly plug it in?

Does freezing the chip obtain a different result than heating it? Apparently Nintendo Switch consoles had eMMC issues which reflowing fixed. How, if at all, does that relate to the issue in having with this tv?

That would be the one at the bottom of the previous picture correct? It says Kingston. Looks like a blue dot to me. I looked it up and it's an eMMC

Something I have noticed is sometimes when I plug it in there will be part of what I'm guessing is a No Signal box at the bottom under the V. It will inch away like a No Signal box too until it's completely off screen never to return.

Edit: I can't find any parts or info as far as EEPROM or NAND for this exact tv. It appears I'm the only person who has ever had this problem with THIS model 🙄

Is there any way to short any pins on the chip to reset it? I really don't want to buy a board because its more than the tv is worth.

    It is MT.

I tried last night and no change. Maybe I didn't get it hot enough. I might try again. I have nothing to lose

The interesting thing tho is how it just powers itself on when plugged in. Would a BGA issue allow that to happen?

    I will try this tonight!

EazyBone I was thinking of doing this as a last resort. I just got a new hot air station so I'm prepared!

Vizio is horrible for doing updates for older sets in my experience so maybe not that. They are notorious for having bad cpu connections that break and need reball or reflow whatever you want to call it. I'd try that. Likely your problem (based off my small knowledge lol)

I tried again this evening and still getting stuck on the V logo. I also tried plugging it in with the update drive plugged in for about an hour. Never did a thing

Yes nothing but power cord. I don't know what may have happened before I got it, but as of right now it looks corrupted.
