    Aoc n2041s THUNDERSTRUCK

    Merry Christmas everyone

Have this one bugging me for a long time and finally got time to deal with it.
It was thunderstruck and the main fuse was blown, couldnt find it any shops
here so I shorted it with thin copper string. (marked on the picture)

Now, it turns on but keeps showing no signal input cable detected.
It has to be something with the logic board? Didnt check the VC regulators...
I could try to get better pictures if needed.

    Thanks in advance

Nice pics of the table but the main board ones are useless.
What are the output voltages like on the power supply

Well 5v is good start - can I assume you had a working pc plugged in when it said no image.

kc8adu - it is just a monitor not a tv - and only has vga,
Its in wrong section just to trick us

If the monitor keeps the message for more than a few seconds it suggests , as you say, main board problem, test the VRs and any big diodes - a better picture of it might help

Yes, probably the surge went thru the VGA port from the PC and wiped out a fuse or possibly the Data IC on the mainboard in a similar fashion as HDMI processors get destroyed on TV mainboards from static electricity or surges.

Think this is a schematic - only snag is, its in chinese?
Anyway I think it says there is another fuse on the power supply.
In your picture bottom left corner near the connector there is a black rectangular box - is that a fuse? if so can you test it.

I just tested the whole thing again, PC pluged into logic board (showing picture on other monitors)... VRs checked fine.

It shows "no input signal" after a big AOC logo and then shuts down, turning green LED indicator into a yellow.

well, not long, a copule of seconds... I would say five or more.
Cause if you doubt 2 seconds to black caused by the transformer, well I would have to say that even the transformer checked out fine.

with repair if the VRs are good- could be any one of those little switching transistors

even if I turn macro ON.

And back to square one, put the parts back together and now the monitor
won´t turn on at all it´s like the power is cut off completly.

I suspect the fault involves that main chip there -- unless you could find a replacement it's probably not fixable.

Order my parts from mobilesentrix.com and iPhone batteries have been excellent. Recently got 3x bad A1534 (2015) batteries. All would work until ~30-40+% and drop to < 10% instantly. Typical sign of cheap batteries.

Perhaps the less popular A1534 model's aftermarket batteries are more source limited. Just find it surprising quality from mobilesentrix (usually fairly high quality aftermarket parts) have been so poor.

                                          Dear reader

TL;DR: iPad not turning on, A10 and power IC become (very) warm when attempted to turn on but this power-on cycle has a 'cooldown' period wherein powering on doesn't work, does not take more than 0.5A charge.

I am working on an iPad 7th generation 2197 from >2019 with no / limited charging and no boot issues. It is a refurbished purchase made in 2021. It appears the 'refurbish' company has either done prior motherboard work (all protective component shield layers are gone) or is one of the many trash refurbish companies (little screen adhesive left, component...

                                          Nuc7i5BNH Bios Dump Needed

                                          Hi everyone,

I accidentally bricked my NUC7i5BNH after disabling the option to boot from USB, and now it's not showing any display at all. I tried the USB recovery method, but unfortunately, it didn't work.

Local repair shops are quoting around $150 just to flash the EEPROM, but considering the unit is only worth about $75 these days, that’s not really an option. So I'm hoping to learn how to flash the chip myself. But to get started, I need a working BIOS dump for the NUC7i5BNH.

I did come across a post with a dump for the NUC7i7BNH, but I wasn't sure...

A friend of mine has a MacBook Air M1 A2337 that does not...
